LOL, Hickson can jump but Dwight gets UP
  • 2quik4u
    D 12
  • thedynasty1998
Not even a question, it's Howard.
  • lhslep134
Well Dwight Howard can probably touch higher, but he's taller and has a bigger wingspan, so it might be JJ, but that's not taking anything away from D12.

Im sure you could find their verticals somewhere.

I am guessing Dwight Howard. I can't help but love how big some of the Cavs fans boners are for Hickson now. Alot of these guys were criticizing the Cavs picking him over at JJhuddle. I and a few others were reminding these people that just because you haven't heard of somebody, doesn't mean they aren't good

If we are talking pure verticals, JJ is probably higher.

After a quick search, Howards is apparently 40' and Hickson is 35'.

Both of those came from sketchly websites, but it's the best I could find.

Guys I remember having/still having great verticals were/are:

    -Vince Carter
    -Stevie Franchise
-Nate Robinson (I think has the highest in the NBA currently)
    -Fred Jones
    -Jason Richardson
-Michael Wright (I think he had like a 46 inch)

I thought shannon brown had the highest int he NBA? Hes at like 45ish
  • Nate
I believe Shannon Brown does also.
  • Laley23
Shannons is at 44.5. I thought Nate was a little over 45. But that could be wrong. Im not really sure, I was just trying to think of guys I remembered with big time ups. Shannon actually escaped my mind, as did James White.

Ive also heard, but I cant imagine nor have I seen it, that Jordan Farmar has around a 42-43 inch vertical.

LeBron is at like 44, but he has stated before he can get up to 10 inches higher off the 1 foot technique (of course, that isnt a true vertical).

Wonder who int he NBA if anyone could go up and slap 13 feet^^^^
  • krazie45
I feel like LeBron and Dwight would have the best shot at it...

A name some of you younger guys may not know, is Roy Hinson, had a stint with the Cavs. I'd say behind Lebron and Larry Nance, Hinson is probably the third best dunker the Cavs have ever had. And as far as pure verticle leap, I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a better one than David Thompson. Also, Dominique Wilkins.
  • GOONx19
That SI article from a couple months ago said John Wall had a 43.5-inch vertical his senior year of high school.

Way back when...David Thompson from NC State was unbelievable. They had to open up the ceilings at his games.

David Thompson...48 inch vertical keap. LOL. Kinda puts a sock in people's mouths whenever they say today's players are better.

I don't know about a standing vert, but watching Spud Webb in that '86 dunk contest was pure freak show. Looked like his feet were a good 5' off the ground.
