The Giving Z

I love Z. Can't wait to get him back. Can't wait to watch LeBron hand Z that trophy before anyone else.
I'd vote for Z for the HOF. Seriously. He defines what a professional is. -
NateI will miss Z and cannot wait for him to come back.
-
se-alumI was just getting ready to post this! Z don't have much left, but I'll be a little upset if the Cavs win a Championship, and Z isn't there to share in that.
-
ohiobucks1I love Z. He is a Cav through and through
-
mucalum49Brian Windhorst just posted that the Wizards dumped Dominic McGuire (who??) to get out of luxury tax. So now Z will have less leverage with the team to have them buy him out.
-
se-alumThey will still buy him out, as they have no need for him. However, they will be able to do it cheaper.
-
SQ_CraziesBut they have no reason to keep him whatsoever. They just scrapped their whole roster, they've given up on this season and are building for the future. You don't do that by keeping a 34 year old center who makes 11 million dollars this year, especially on the cusp of the biggest offseason in league history. Not to mention a center who isn't going to be very motivated to play for you. As much of a pro as he is, I know he'll go about his business but he won't be happy there if they keep him.

KR1245Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!

3reppomMcGuire made a touch over 800,000 I don't think that will have much impact at all on the likelihood of Z being bought out. The bottom line is that the Wizards are blowing their team up and starting from scratch now. Z is 34 years old has a contract worth 11 million dollars, the Wizards have no interest what so ever in paying him a dime. He will be bought out, it may take a bit more money than before but it will be done.

KnightXC1HOF SQ? Let's not get carried away here. Z has been a good tough player for the Cavs for a long time but he is not HOF material. Unless the Wiz decide to keep him for some reason, he will be back with the Cavs in a month or so.

He may not be an NBA HOF'er, but one day I hope to see his jersey hanging in the rafters of the Q. He def belongs in the Cleveland HOF. He is the definition of a true class act. 29 days until the return.KnightXC1 wrote: HOF SQ? Let's not get carried away here. KnightXC1^^ That I can see and would have no problem with. However it's not 29 days till the return since he has not been bought out yet to my knowledge.
-
september63We'll find out what motivates Z. Dallas is poised to offer him more money than Cleveland. As a free agent, it will be Z's choice. Take more cash or win a championship!!
-
SQ_CraziesHis number will hang in the rafters at the Q. I don't even think that's debatable.
And Knight, I'm going to chose not to respond to your post until you actually read mine--the whole thing, not just three letters. -

Does anyone know the actual numerical difference between what the Cavs can offer and what the Mavs can offer? Also make sure you add the $600,000 Z made from the Cavs for getting traded.september63 wrote: We'll find out what motivates Z. Dallas is poised to offer him more money than Cleveland. It's 30 days from the trade, not 30 days from the buyout...KnightXC1 wrote: ^^ That I can see and would have no problem with. However it's not 29 days till the return since he has not been bought out yet to my knowledge. -

It isn't about a championship. Cleveland is Z's home. He's a Cavalier. And it isn't like the organization turned their back on him, they want to bring him back and he knows they weren't just "hoping" to get him back. He'll be back with Cleveland.september63 wrote: We'll find out what motivates Z. Dallas is poised to offer him more money than Cleveland. As a free agent, it will be Z's choice. People act like this will be the first time that someone has been bought out, offered more money to play somewhere else but picked sitting out a month to return to their team. -
UA5straightin2008what are the chances they will get him back? what has to happen?
-
SQ_Crazies99.9% IMO.
Unless Z has a change of heart, and I think that the chances the Cavs don't offer to take him back are greater than Z having a change of heart. -

I am quite certain it is from when he gets bought out. Could be wrong but am almost positive it goes from when he gets bought out because the same thing happend with Antonio McDyess last year and he couldn't come back until 30 days after Denver bought him. Happened a few days after the trade so bno big deal but Z will likely be back at some point in time.KnightXC1 wrote:

And SQ, I did read your whole post, not just 3 letters. Z has been a good tough player for the Cavs for a long time and should be commended. My only response was to you saying you would vote him for the HOF. Cavs HOF, sure no doubt about it for being there for what 13 years and playing very consistently over that time. -

NO.....For the SECOND time, it's 30 days after the trade. I didn't post that for shits and giggles. Here:KnightXC1 wrote:I am quite certain it is from when he gets bought out. If a team trades a player and the player is waived by the receiving team, the player's original team cannot re-sign that player for 30 days (during the season) or 20 days (during the offseason) following the date of the trade. -
SageI hope Cavs fans realize it isn't 100% that you're getting back big Z.
-
SageAnd LOL at the clown that said Big Z deserves to be in the Basketball HOF. Talk about a homer.

miller45452003Atlanta HAwks have joined the I want Z parade.

Obviously nothing is 100%. Hell it's not 100% that I don't get hit by a car on the way to subway today.....however it really makes no sense for him to go elsewhere.Sage wrote: I hope Cavs fans realize it isn't 100% that you're getting back big Z.
