Zanesvilles Kevin Martin traded to the Rockets

    Will be sending Kenny Thomas, Martin, Sergio Rodriguez, and Hilton Armstrong for T-Mac, Carl Landry, and Joey Dorsey.

    Kings may end up buying out T-Mac.

    On a personal note happy to see Kevin go to a playoff team.

    On a Cavs note, what would you guys feel about the Cavs maybe trying for T-Mac once he's bought out?

    No to T-Mac, but I'm glad he's not going to NY :)

    Not that I think LeBron is leaving (I don't) but that has to hurt the feelings of many New Yorkers..


    Just saw on ESPN that T-Mac could still go to NY as this could be a 3 team deal.. Not for sure yet though.

    No evidence Lakers would have interest, but Danny Ferry kept an eye on T-Mac this season. That said, unclear if either team would want him

    Keeps the Knicks from getting his expiring contract. Hope this isnt the SG were wanting. Not sure why the Rockets didnt want the Bulls deal.

    I can't believe the Rockets gave up Carl Landry. I like Kevin Martin and all, but the Rockets really don't have any true big guys left. Luis Scola?

    Rockets are a wash for this year and many fans knew this at the beginning of the season when Yao and TMac were not in the lineup.

    Aaron Brooks and Trevor Arizza are not all star calibur players....This move brings the Rockets under the luxury tax level and frees up some more money for free agency....This is definitely a move for next year in hopes that Yao gets healthy.

    If this deal does indeed happen, McGrady will end up with the New York Knicks if this becomes a 3 team deal.

    Jared Jeffries would also be included in the deal, leading many people to believe that this deal is being made from New York's point to make room so they can make a heavy run at LeBron this summer.

    They could throw in their whole roster and it would still be obvious that they are trying to get LeBron and another max.

    Deal is far from done at this point in time, but looks like a bad trade for the Rockets. I like Martin but they are giving up a lot.

    Well I mean the Cavs could use some help at SG and if T-Mac can be had for cheap and can accept his role on the team then I have no problems taking a flyer on him.

    When you don't even know how to spell Ariza's last name, I seriously doubt how much you have watched him play, nor know how good he is. Both he and Aaron Brooks are very good players, and both have emerged big time this year. At the outset of the season when Tmac and Yao were both hurt people were saying that the Rockets were a lottery team. Well... the Rockets are in the thick of the playoff race.

    Ariza isn't that good at all. The only reason he's put up numbers is because of the minutes he gets. You tend to get more minutes when your backup guards are Jermaine Taylor and Garrett Temple. And you tend to take more shots when you have defensive players like Chuck Hayes and Shane Battier in the starting line up. He's only shooting 38%. Nothing more than a role player on a legit team.

    Brooks has been very good this year though.

    That might be true if he was like Gerald Wallace and was garbage in the past, turns up on a bad team and becomes their scorer, and then becomes vastly overrated.

    But Ariza had a great year with the Lakers last year, especially in the playoffs. There is more to the game than what your shot percentage is. He can score and he plays great defense, and he is only going to get better

    Playoffs?

    11ppg 4 reb. Not exactly lighting it up there.

    And Gerald Wallace has averaged, since joining the Bobcats

    16ppg, 7 reb. Wouldn't nessicarily call that garbage.

    But yeah, keep thinking Ariza sucks. You obviously think that it is all about points. There's a reason he was a hot commodity this past offseason

    And where did I say Ariza sucked, you should use your own advice from the other thread, and learn to read.

    You said Ariza had a great season, and playoffs, I proved he really didn't, but never once did I say he isn't a good player, and I think on the right team he'd be a legit 2nd or 3rd option, and an excellent defender, but he's not much more than that.

    Once Martin gets in the swing of things, which shouldn't take much with his old Coach in Rick Adelman, you'll see him getting the lions share of the shots, and oppurtunities and Ariza can go back to being a #2, which he'd be better at.

    And I wouldn't really say he was a hot Commodity, there was really 2 teams outside the lakers that wanted Ariza, and both were for the MLE.

    I don't think anyone said Trevor Ariza is a great player or a number 1 option on a great team. Agree with what you said, he is definitely a good young player and someone you hold on to, but not someone you try to build a team around.

    Wasn't saying that you did. And I agree with you, he's a good player, anyone saying otherwise is foolish, same could be said with Gerald Wallace though :)

    The reason I brought Wallace into it was that Mulva said that the only reason Ariza was scoring what he was, was because he was one of the main options on a bad team. But Ariza has been solid before he turned up with the Rockets. Hence he wasn't like Gerald Wallace who came out of nowhere and automatically became well known because he was throwing up a ton of shots on a bad team

    Hate to keep busting your chops when it comes to Wallace, but he's a 47% shooter, averaging 11 shots per game with the Bobcats, not exactly throwing up a ton :D

    In comparison, Ariza is chucking up 15 per game this year, shooting 38%.

    Like I said, just busting your chops on Wallace, I'm a big fan of his game, and was hoping the Cavs would bring him in when it was discussed during the offseason :)

    According to the LA Times, the Lakers miss Ariza, Artest isn't fitting in, and Laker fans want Ariza back.
