Detroit Offers Damon 2-years, $14 million

SpeedofsandHe is a nice guy. I've met him very briefly a couple times. At a Fla-Uga football game, and New Years Eve at the House of Blues with Alter Bridge. On New Years, he had just been married the day before, his 2nd wife is hawt.

Eric TaylorDidnt Detroit trade Granderson to save money?
Dont really get why they put down 8 million and a no trade clause for Damon.
What happened was they basically traded Granderson for Damon which will turn out to be a huge mistake for them as Damon will not be as productive offensively in Detroit. -
KnightXC1^^ Even after the Tigers traded Curtis, they were still in the market for a veteran and a left handed bat. Damon fits both of those. His power number will likely be down this year without the short porch at Yankee Stadium but that is to be expected. Damon will hit for a much higher average than Granderson did since Damon can actually hit left handed pitching. He is probably going to DH a bunch with Guillen because he can't throw worth a lick. For one year, I am not going to be too upset about it unless he completely tanks.

darbypitcher22wow can't believe they gave him $8 mil...

HitsRusNearest offer was $5 miilion from Chicago.....would seem like they overpaid.

dwccrewDetroit is making some bonehead decisions IMO. Getting rid of some of the players they did and now paying Damon $8 million for 1 season? Hopefully it turns out ok, since they know way more about baseball than I do, but it just seems like some bad moves.

KnightXC1For one year, I think it will be alright, minus his fielding. Anything more than a year would have been a disaster.
