  LeBron James has garnered his FIFTH straight NBA Eastern Conference player of the month honor dating back to last season, setting up the real possibility of sweeping the season award, and in all likelyhood the MVP. Granted, this would be a difficult task to achieve, but I like the thought of it being a possibility.
  
  I believe only Garnett has achieved for in a row as has James once prior. Five in a row I believe is unprecedented. He now has won the honor 14 times in his short NBA stint.

  No, because Durant is in the West.
  
  This is the Eastern Conference player of the month, which he has won every month.
  
  Maybe Dwayne Wade, but it's a real possibility with only a few months left that LeBron could sweep.

  I just don't see anyone that will average 30/7/7 to take it away from him. However, he could ose this award the rest of the season, as long as we win a title

  It is quite a remarkable achievement however.
  
  agree dave, Miami is terrible and Wade isn't capable of doing it alone an entire game, Howard just doesn't get the touches needed.

  Wade is looking ran down to me. He doesn't look like he has the legs to do anything right now.
  
  His jumper is is way off and he's not attacking as much as you usually see.

  His first half has been good, but he didn't score until late in the 4th after going 0-9 in his first attempts tonite. It was similar to his last game against the Cav's.

  If Lebron can start winning some championships (which I hope starts this season) I think he will go down as one of the top 3 players ever. He could even *gasp* dethrone Michael Jordan one day. But that would require at least 4-6 titles.

  That's called a side effect of having to carry a poor team on your shoulders to make it a slightly above-average team (at best). I feel bad for Wade. He's a great player, but without major revisions to his roster, he's only going to bust his ass for either a hard-fought first round elimination or a second-round butchering.
  
  It's kinda weird in a way, how everyone and their brother talks about LeBron leaving for greener pastures if the Cavs don't win it all this year (and maybe even if they do), but thoughts on Wade doing so don't seem so prevalent even though he legit plays on a team that might be comparable to about anyone a step better than the Nets without him.

  No doubt it's because he's carrying a lot on his shoulders, just as LeBron did pretty much until mid- 2008.
  
  Sadly for Miami, Michael Beasley has been a "bust". He's not terrible, but no where near as good as he was touted to be. He doesn't have the IQ or drive to be a great player.
  
  I look at it like this. Wade probably trusts Pat Riley, who wouldn't? BUT, the lure of going home to Chicago and playing with Rose and Noah, among some others, has to be in the back of Wades head. I've said all along that the only "big" time free agent I see leaving is Wade.
  
  I'm not sure on Bosh, because I think he could, but all of a sudden, he seems pretty happy in Toronto. (possibly due to them winning now)
  
  I know the Heat sacrificed these last couple of years to stock up the cap for next season, just as they did in '05 (for the most part) so they could stock up a championship run in '06...
  
  However, does Wade want to hang his hat on being good every few years? Supposedly Pat Riley is talking about adding 2 legit players to that roster. However, the only players after this season under contract are Beasley and Chamlers, I believe. That is A LOT to replace, especially if you're hanging your hat on grabbing TWO legit players. This league has proven that you need a legit bench to go along with your starting 5, or it doesn't matter who you have.

  I'd agree with that. Beasley's a great talent, but he's immature and stupid right now. He's the sort of guy who really could have used a couple more years of college (or had his one year be under a guy I'd consider a better "turns boys into men" coach than Frank Martin) for maturity purposes, as I don't think he's yet "got it" as far as the responsibility a person should have to be a high-level professional athlete.
  
  And I agree on the Wade/Bosh thing. If you're a superstar-caliber athlete in the NBA, you want to be THE MAN on your team. If you leave that team, it's because they didn't give you a strong cast, which I can see Wade being at that point right now. He's had injury issues during his career to the point where I think he might have a smaller window for greatness than some of the other elites. I can't see him wasting these prime years of his career floundering in the playoff bubble zone of the East. Meanwhile, Bosh, who everyone had going somewhere else last year, is on a team that could host a first round series if they keep on keepin' on and Boston keeps faltering (a big factor in this would be them actually winning on the road...9-17 = first round defeat unless you have home-court). He has to be thinking that instead of being the co-star/Pippen dude, he could be the main man on a potentially great team right now.
