Heckert Thinks Tebow Is a QB

  • krazie45
Seems like new Browns GM Tom Heckert is defending Tebow and thinks he'll be a QB in the NFL. Could the Browns actually be considering drafting Tebow in a later round? If so, quite frankly there is no God...

Not that I doubt you but is there a link for this?

I doubt Tebow will be around in a later round when the Browns might consider taking him as a project at QB. Unlikely there's anything to worry about here.

Plus, it's that time of year when GM's say things just to throw off other teams as to what they're thinking when it comes to their draft board.

Between those two things, I'm not concerned at all.

Not a fat chance unless he is still laying there in the 5th round. I thik its a smokescreen and startegy directed at Jacksonville. There said to be very high on him ala the governor of Florida. He may be trying to trade out of there pick in the 1st and in return get players, draft picks,..etc. But then again, we are talking about the Browns. PLEASE GOD DONT LET US TAKE HIM EARLY!!

I'm not saying he won't be good, but from everything I've seen of him since his last snap at Florida... he looks like clipboard carrier. Poor accuracy, bad mechanics, and little experience reading defenses and taking snaps from under center

I still would like a link...But the thought of Tim fricken' Tebow in a Browns uniform would cause myself and most if not all Browns fans to seriously consider chewing on the barrel of a .45

If the Browns draft Tebow... that pushes me further away from liking the organization.

I will never ever root for tebow. Ever! Him being a brown would not make me happy. Yes I know, the organization doesn't care what I think.

I'm a loyal Browns fan, and will be forever, but I would absolutely hate it if the organization drafted Tebow. Yeah, he's a nice guy or whatever, but I highly doubt that he'll ever be a successful QB in the NFL and I would be disgusted by the media obsession over him. Any team that drafts him before the 3rd or 4th round is crazy.

Sorry, I had a brain fart and completely forgot the link! Just got back from doing the bball game so I'm a little tired.

I don't get it. The media has been pounding the idea for years about "How a guy looks doesn't matter, what his mechanics are don't matter, and nothing else matters except whether or not he has IT."

If any of that garbage were true, there wouldn't be one peep about whether or not Tebow would be able to be a successful NFL quarterback. If it is in fact "all about intangibles", there shouldn't be any question.

Or is this the perfect example of a completely idiotic notion being put to rest?

    I think he's a QB too.

    Well, a college QB.

If Tebow becomes a Brown and you are a real Browns fan, you root for Tebow to win games. I almost hope he goes to the Browns just to see the "fans" making up reasons for why Tebow is now their boy. For the record, I would be one of those who think that while he does have some issues....ball release, etc. etc. he has always done one thing that the Browns haven't done in quite a long time. He has won consistently everywhere he has ever played. I would think it may be at least worth the risk to see if somehow he could contribute to reversing the Brown's fortunes.

I usually take what NFL organizations say at this point, with a grain of salt. Smoke and mirrors is the biggest game you can play as you approach the draft. Even if you know for a 100% chance you won't be taking somebody, you're never going to come out and say it if approached.

On the flip side, Tebow is going to be a hot commodity, despite what scouts say, because he's a winner and he'll put butts in seats. Why not come out and play that your interested?

There is a big chance we could be interested, but I'm not looking much into this, personally.
