Brandon Marshall for Brady Quinn???

I would give Edwards the slightest credit in helping the Jets offense. He was not running the ball or making the critical blocks to make the running game go. He was still dropping passes and having them bounce off his face mask.IggyPride00 wrote: Cleveland would assuredly have to throw in a high draft pick to make a deal like that happen, as there is no way that Broncos have Brady Quinn graded anywhere near the level a Brandon Marshall is at. A straight up swap is not realistic.
The Browns do need a big play receiver though. Look at how Braylon Edwards helped the Jets offense just by being a threat to actually make plays. Cleveland is missing that right now. -
WriterbuckeyeCleveland does need a receiver to stretch the field and, at this point, it doesn't appear to be Mo Mass.
That said, I don't want anything to do with Marshall -- regardless of the price.
I've had enough of head case receivers (thanks Braylon) to last me a good, long time. -
DaBrowns41This is a shitty deal for both sides. Cleveland gets a WR that wants to be on a winning team, and ends up going to a piece of shit team. He's a wannabe Terrell Owens. Denver gets a young QB that they know nothing about, compared to a stud WR.
If Cleveland does this deal, they are stupid. He's no different from Braylon Edwards except that he bitches more.
Those calling for this trade are just people that don't want to give a young QB a chance to actually develop into a football player. -
SportsAndLadyMarshall
101 receptions
1120 yards
10 TDs
Braylon
45 receptions
680 yards
4 TDs
I'd say Marshall is a "tad bit" different than Braylon. -

Marshall is a complainer, and has actually had a real QB throwing to him.SportsAndLady wrote: Marshall

Braylon has not.
Also, you conveniently left out this stat: YPC- Braylon 15.5 over his career. Marshall- 12.3.
11.1 last season with the shitty Kyle Orton.
Either way, unless we make a blockbuster trade, we're not going to have anybody better than Kyle Orton throwing to Marshall, so it's a moot point.
Anybody that understands football realizes that you need a QB to throw to a WR. BQ is not a QB that you can rely on, but if you're knowledgeable of the game, you wouldn't just give a QB less than a season starting to judge him.
Marshall is a cry baby bitch. We need MUCH more than a solid WR to make this offense great. -
Al CaponePlaxico should be out of the slammer after next season. Wait for him.

Do you think you're in a Bengals thread or something?Al Capone wrote: Plaxico should be out of the slammer after next season. Wait for him. -
paulspadaforaNo chance the broncos would even think about this deal; Brady Quinn isn't half the player Marshall is.

You keep saying Marshall is a "complainer" So you wouldn't take a receiver who produces year in and year out just because he complains?DaBrowns41 wrote:

I didn't purposely leave out the YPC stat, I just thought an extra 3 yards a catch wasn't relevant in the argument.
I'm not really arguing with you on anything too major (i'd say 9 out of 10 times I agree with your posts, i enjoy reading your insights on the Browns), I'm just saying Marshall is a top 3 WR, Braylon is not
And as for your last sentence...we have one of the better O-lines in the AFC, a RB who put up huge numbers when given the proper chance as well as a serviceable back up and a rookie who got hurt last year who shows potential, maybe all we need is that explosive WR to loosen up the passing game for our young QB? Our 3 WRs right now don't really scream cover 2..more like man on man, stuff the run. -
DaBrowns41I don't know if I'm really trying to argue that he's better than Braylon or not, because I wouldn't disagree. He's much better than Braylon. But YPC is something to look at when you rate WR's.
Who are you thinking we will get to throw the ball to our WR's, though? I'm not saying Quinn is any good, or that he's our future, but you gotta think that he's in the drivers seat as of now, and that he's our best option (compared to DA and most of the other FA opportunities).
Marshall is talented. But he's a prima donna, and I don't even think he would even want to come to this team and produce. I don't want a guy on this team that doesn't want to play for us. Braylon didn't, and I think that's just one of a few reasons why he stopped producing (and that he just has terrible hands).
If we were a few positions away from a great team, I may feel differently, but we need a lot of help (RG, RT, #1 WR, #3 WR, and potentially RB, as well as QB), and I'd rather just try to work on giving our former first round pick a chance before proclaiming him a bust after less than a season starting. -
FidmeisterBig difference between Brandon Marshall and Braylon Edwards: Marshall can actually catch the ball.

Saying you wouldn't take Marshall for Quinn is dumb. I prefer Quinn over Anderson but that's the most value you will EVER get out of Brady Quinn. -
paulspadaforaI guess its not bad being a browns fan; you are all delusional.
-
KnightRyderi'd be happy if the browns could get a couple of old helmets and a pair of shoulder pads for Quinn

Our offense is terrible, but the D is one of the 6-8 worst in the league regardless of who is on offense.sleeper wrote: Sure, its not the best D in the league, its average to slightly above average, but our offense is terrible.
We need offense, period. B. Marshall > Quinn, even with the character issues.
The safeties are pathetic. The corners are below average (Wright is a solid #2 but there is no lock down guy and McDonald is not starting caliber). The linebackers are average all around, but there are no real game changers, and the D-line is average at best.
Rogers is a stud, but he isn't getting any younger, and D'Qwell/Wimbley/Barton/Wright are all solid but not game changing players.
The defense needs playmakers just as badly as the offense. -
KnightRyderdid anyone notice as the browns running game improved last season so did the defense?

exactly, get an offense that can stay on the field for more than 4 plays a quarter, and the defense will flourish. We don't need to go defensive in the draft, we need to get offensive playmakers to help out whoever is at the qb position and linemen that will help Harrison get 2000 yardsKnightRyder wrote: did anyone notice as the browns running game improved last season so did the defense? -

34 points given up to the less than stellar KC offense says you're wrong.KnightRyder wrote: did anyone notice as the browns running game improved last season so did the defense?
