Cavs Now With Best Record in NBA
-
FootwedgeWe all knew that it was just a matter of time. The cream rising to the top kind of thing.
Cavs 34-11.
LA 33-11. -
Cleveland BuckIt won't last long unless Delonte gets back in a hurry and plays better than he did against L.A.
-
2quik4ulooks what happened when they had the best record last year
-
hoops23Delonte played well against LA. Don't always look at stats... He played great defense and hit a clutch 3 in the 4th.
He wasn't looking for his shot that game. But he had some nice stops on Kobe and Brown.. -
Cleveland BuckIf he is the starting PG, then he needs to look for his shot. Especially when Derek Fisher is guarding him.
-
wes_mantoothYeah, Lakers and Cavs seem to be having the most fun, so of course they are the best two teams.
Go Teams!! -

I refute that by saying 93-87.Cleveland Buck wrote: If he is the starting PG, then he needs to look for his shot. Especially when Derek Fisher is guarding him.
I think he did what was right. -
Cleveland BuckThat doesn't refute anything. If he plays better, it is 102-87.
-
wildcats20And if Pau makes 2 FTs, this isn't even a discussion.
Delonte didn't play great, but as LTrain said he did what he needed to. -
h2thaizzoI agree with Cleveland Buck. It was nice to get the "W", but Delonte if forced to play the point, needs to be more confident. He has some nice offensive skills that this entire season he has been afraid to use. He's a terrific outside shooter, but how many times have we seen him double clutch, or hesitate when he has a wide open shot attempt? He defense doesn't bother me, it's the fact that he has the ability to score 12-15 points on any given night, yet we are only getting about 7 per game out of him. He's only hit double figures in about 25% of our games if I had to guess.
-
Trueblue23It's only a half game, not really a big deal, especially in January.
-
Cleveland BuckIf Pau makes 2 FT the Lakers lose 91-89 instead of 93-87. Big difference.

Delonte is not a PG. Despite his size, he's always been more comfortable at the 2. Even in college he was a 2.h2thaizzo wrote: I agree with Cleveland Buck. He hasn't played much this season and to be placed into the starting lineup against the best team we've faced, he did what he needed to do.
I know you'd rather have Mike D'Antoni as our head coach to watch the Cavs play 106-104 type games, but this team is built for grind it out defensive slugfests.. Twice we played the Lakers and twice we held them under 90 points. That's how you win championships.
Delonte didn't force anything, as there are other key attributes to a game other than points by a given player. We'll get the offense we need to win, as long as the players contribute in other ways. He played some great defense on the PG's of LA and especially on Kobe in the 4th.. -
wes_mantoothThe only thing that surprised me about that game(as noted on Jim Romes show) was how the Cavs beat them. They were much more physical than the lakers and beat them up....maybe that is why the Laker fans took it so hard....not that they got beat, but how they did it. Honestly, i could give a shit less about that game and the regular season in general, but the Laker fans on here sure got pissy over the whole situation.

Was it that bad on here? I'm glad I was at the game then.wes_mantooth wrote: The only thing that surprised me about that game(as noted on Jim Romes show) was how the Cavs beat them. I was more upset with the way Phil coached than anything. He kept Kobe on the bench almost 2 min after Bron was put back in in the 4th. Bron came in ON FIRE and Kobe looked like shit. IMO, Phil should have played Kobe to start the 4th and sit him for a 3-4 min stretch in the middle so he was fresh for the like 4-5 min. -

They were very irritated. It was kinda funny you mention Kobe sitting. They kept showing him on the bench and he was quite frustrated not being in there. I agree that you want him in, but it is just the regular season and if that is his usual break time....then I would just keep him there. In the grand scheme of things, this game means dick. -

True. The old man next to me at the game kept saying "come on Kobe, there goes LeBron, get up Kobe."wes_mantooth wrote:wildcats20 wrote:

Then again the fans were running around talking shit like they just won a Title. It was actually quite comical. -
hoops23Kobe is lucky the HotWad didn't get to him.

I never said he was a PG. I said he isn't aggressive enough offensively. I also said he needs to be more confident when forced into the PG role, as he will be for the next month. I've watched almost every game of the last two seasons, and this isn't the same Delonte West that we saw last year.LTrain23 wrote:

No, I would not want D'Antoni as our coach. Our last two games we finally started to get Shaq involved early, something we have not done much of all year, and its set the tone in the game. He still, at the age of 37, is next to impossible to defend. The Toronto game we even established him well.
You're saying I want D'Antoni because I time after time mention the magical 100 point number, but it's a fact that we are nearly unbeatable (1 loss all season) when we score more than 100 points.
He took 4 shots all night, of course he didn't force anything. He had a lot more looks than 4 all night though. Last season he was one of those guys we went to when we needed to put points on the board. I'm not ready to claim that we'll be okay in close games with Delonte only scoring 3 points.
