HBO boxing 1/23

Hulk SmashNo spoiled, super rich boxers making crazy demands in this event:rolleyes:
Two rising stars on a collision course if they win this weekend.
Juan Manuel Lopez(27-0, 24ko's) vs Steve Luevano(37-1-1 15ko's)
Lopez is must see tv for boxing fans and Luevano is no slouch, not expecting this to be easy for JuanMa.
Yuriorkis Gamboa(16-0 14ko's) vs Rogers Mtagwa(26-13-2)
Do not be fooled by Mtagwa's record, he gave JuanMa everything he could handle last fall in a "fight of the year candidate".
imo Gamboa is even more entertaining than Pacquiao. He is a whirlwind in the ring with blazing speed and not afraid to take a shot.
If Lopez and Gamboa both win Saturday it sets up a fight with each other later in the year that is a can't miss FOY candidate the second it gets signed. -
NonI'm looking forward to this.
Two of the best fighters to watch in JuanMa and Gamboa. -
Hulk SmashI hope we get to watch them face one another in few months.
Luevano and Mtagwa are the bad guys tonight. -
MulvaI'm expecting JuanMa and Gamboa both to win relatively easily.
-
NonGamboa mauls Mtagwa
second round stoppage -
MulvaHoly shit Gamboa.
-
NonGamboa landed everything around the gloves with good power
the thing about Gamboa is most of his regular punches have power against these small guys without going for wild power shots -
NonLopez stops Luevano in the 7th
right uppercut had Luevano staggered and Lopez finished him off soon after that
good variety of punches shown by Lopez as the fight wore on -
Nontwo good punchers
JuanMa and Gamboa
both vulnerable defensively
should be exciting but quick -
Hulk SmashOn a collision course now, I hope it lands on regular HBO.
Can't see Lopez/Gamboa being a boxing match for more than a round or two before it turns into an all out war.
They filled up the venue too. It wasn't the larger arena downstairs but small or not a full arena is always good.
