  I don't care for Phillip Rivers but yea this is a choke job. Congrats to the Jets though, they played well and deserved to win this game. They hit them in the mouth time after time and SD shot themselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers.

  This is not from just today, this has been going on the last few years. They beat Indy a couple of times,but other than that they have gagged big time in the playoffs.

  I don't think they choked at all, I think they got beat by the better team today. They had no answer for the Jets D.

  I probably wouldn't put it like that.
  
  Only because the Chargers had a lot of open receivers for most of the first half and they moved the ball. They had some costly penalties the entire game.
  
  Kaeding missed three field goals, two inside 40, and he had made 69 in a row from that range.
  
  I think the Jets should've been down more than 7-0 at the half and it was a lot on the Chargers for making mistakes.
  
  In the second half the Jets were confident because it was close and then they started to play physical and win that battle straight up.

  Strongly disagree. Jets D is solid, but the Chargers squandered chances like they got paid off to do so. Nate Kaeding may not have made it home alive tonight.

  Definitely a choke job. Kaeding's gotta make at least 2 of those kicks (50 + yarder was a stretch) and Rivers didn't help matters by repeatedly making awful passes.
  
  Vincent Jackson's kick of the challenge flag was pretty boneheaded too.

  Yeah, a 43 yarder and 36 yarder (or whatever it was) should be nearly automatic for an NFL kicker, especially a "pro bowler". Definitely shouldn't be missing two of them in a game, particularly not a playoff game.

  The Jets are a good team at this point but the Chargers, if you look at the whole season and the fact they were a higher seed, choked this one away. I think it might be worse being a Chargers fan than a fan of a perennial loser. Might.

  2007: 11-5, beat Titans and Colts, lose to Patriots in AFC Championship
  2008: 8-8, beat Colts, lose to Steelers in Divisional Playoffs
  2009: 13-3, lose to Jets in Divisional Playoffs
  
  So basically if the Chargers are taking on the Jets or Patriots in the Playoffs, take the Jets or Patriots.

  I doubt they get rid of Norv. Even if they do, he will still land on his feet somewhere else. I swear the guy has naked pictures of someone. Absolute worst head coach in the NFL.

  I did not understand the firing of Schottenheimer at all. They fire a coach because he can't win the playoffs, so they hire a guy who EVEN WORSE in the playoffs.

  They do this every year. i don't see this as being as big of an upset as everyone on TV does. The Chargers overachieve during the season and then under achieve in the postseason.

  Marty got fired because he and the GM did not get along. It had nothing to do with his ability as a coach. IMHO if Marty would have stayed aboard the Bolts would have won a couple Super Bowls by now and could have gotten another this season.

  By that definition it may not be an upset as you say. But that is EXACTLY what choking is.

  Not sure what makes me more disgusted.....how pathetic Philip Rivers is with his crying antics or how badly the Jets will get beat by Indy. I couldn't help but laugh at the "ooooo cmon ref you know that pass was incomplete and now i'm going to have a seizure and make myself look like an idiot. ooooo wait, Revis actually caught it!?" What a clown Rivers is. I tip my cap to the Jets for a strong performance tonight, but I'd be thoroughly shocked if the Jets can hang with the Colts. Peyton is far too good to let this team beat him and the Colts. Revis is a great shut-down corner, but I think Peyton will avoid throwing his way and utilize his other targets. Colts by 17+.

  I thought going into this game the Jets posed a matchup problem for the Chargers. They play physical defense (and lets face it, LT isn't a top-flight back any more), run the ball well (and San Diego's rush defense has been a little suspect), and are playing like they have nothing to lose.
  
  I was kind of hoping the Chargers would win it all this year, just because I'm sure the celebration they would have in San Diego would be awesome. Now, instead I get to listen to weeks of talk about how bad of a coach Norv Turner is when for the last few weeks everybody has been singing his praises.

  In his defense, that pass definitely looked incomplete in real time. My roommate and I couldn't believe that ref made that call. If I was the QB I would have done the exact same thing, not sure how it makes you a whiner. In replay, you could tell that Revis made an outstanding play on the ball, but in real time, you couldn't tell a thing unless you were in the position that the ref was (he made an excellent call by the way).

  I vote Jay Cutler as biggest baby... Only reason I somewhat like Rivers is because of that Monday night game a few years back when he was making fun of Cutler on the sidelines
