Irony in a Colts - Jets AFC Title game

  • myron pater boswell
This could be moot in an hour if San Diego comes back to win, but...

...wouldn't that be ironic if the Jets--who arguably got into the playoffs when the Colts tanked the game with New York in Week 16--are the team Indy must beat to make it to the Super Bowl?!?

I was thinking the same thing. Although, Im sure the Colts wouldnt mind playing the Jets and a rookie QB on the road for the AFC Championship.

It also ironic to have the Jets and Colts playing in the AFC championship game in the 50th year for the original AFL teams since the Jets-Colts Super Bowl put the AFL on an equal basis with the NFL.

Ryan will have to play Indy's first string next week. I think Peyton and the Colt fans are booking their super bowl travel arrangements now that SD has shit in the bed.

And that Super Bowl upset was 1969--so it's the 40th Anniversary of that Jets-Colts upset

Actually it was the 1968 season. The Super Bowl was in January of 1969, so it's the 41st anniversary.

Thank you Jets! I picked the Jets defense with my final pick in my postseason fantasy league, and they are coming up huge! No redrafting, so if your player gets eliminated in round one, you get zeroes across the board the rest of the playoffs. I am right thick in the middle of the standings, with 5 of 8 players alive: Drew Bress, Pierre Thomas, Percy Harvin, Garrett Hartley and the Jets D. An unlikely Jets-Saints Super Bowl would be HUGE for my chances!

I hope you're right man! Plus, I admit it, the bars in the city would be thumping if the Jets get in somehow ...

Definitely. How does the Empire State building look lit up green in person? The pictures I've seen are awesome.

Ironically enough, I haven't even noticed haha. I work on 44th and 3rd, so I can only see the Crysler Building from this area ... I will have to look later when I go home to Brooklyn.

Well, I think I might have to pull for the Jets in this one. If the Colts had respected the integrity of the game back in week 15...then they wouldn't have to play the Jets....it would be fun to throw that in the front office's face. But I am bitter, if the Colts don't lay down in wk 15...the Texans make the playoffs....

I'm gonna root hard for the Colts.
