Rex Ryan - love him or hate him?

  • justincredible
Doesn't seem to be much middle ground with Rex, most people either love hate him. Seems to be the kinda guy you love if he's the coach of your favorite team and hate if he isn't. What are your thoughts on the big guy?

Personally, I love the fat son of a bitch. He says what's on his mind and isn't afraid of looking like an idiot or sticking his foot in his mouth or whatever. On the field his results are obvious. He took a below average defense, added a couple of his guys and turned them into the best unit in the NFL in one season.

I'm kind of indifferent because he coaches for a team I don't care about but I love his style.

I'm indifferent. I dig his confidence and obviously the dude knows how to run a D but he did leave my beloved Ravens lol.

    Indifferent.

Indifferent, I would probably hate him if the Jets were rivals of my team(Cowboys) or something like that. But he seems to be a pretty good coach and has a sense of humor, and I like that. Especially the Christmas wish list lol

I've read a shit ton of articles on the Jets and Ryan and I tend to read at least a few comments for each article. It's absurd the amount of hate the guy receives for speaking what's on his mind and not sugar coating things. I hardly every see an indifferent opinion on him, though I guess if you really didn't care you probably wouldn't be reading the article.

I'm a lot closer to love than I am to hate, as I'm not a big Jets fan. I really do like the attitude and confidence he instills in his team. He seems like the kind of guy who will say what he wants to and doesn't really care what others think about it. I'd take that any day over someone who plays it really close to his vest and is afraid to speak his mind.

At the very least, he'll be worth a few good Coors Light commercials before it's all said and done.

Voted love him but I am more "like him"... He and his brother are very candid, good at what they do, and seem to have fun doing it. I always enjoyed coaches that embraced this style as opposed to cliche spewing cookie cutter coaches

    Never thought of that. Awesome.

I love him! Definitely breaks the mold of NFL coaches, the guy says what he thinks and doesn't shy away from anything. I'd love it if he were the head coach of my favorite team!

I like him. He at least has something to say unlike most of the other coaches that just say a whole lot of nothing to the media.

He's entertaining, but I hope he gets his butt kicked every time.

Indifferent on Rex can't stand his Dad, however.
  • Al Capone
I like the guy. Like they said on espn this morning, he might show up at a press conference in blue jeans and an old tee shirt with pizza stains on it.

    Like him, don't love him.

I like what rex says at the end about the defensive POY.

“I would like to congratulate the people who voted for Darrelle Revis,” Ryan said, “that these guys obviously really know the game. … A number I think is interesting would be eight. And, no, that’s not the amount of touchdown passes that Green Bay gave up against [the Arizona Cardinals in Sunday’s loss]. That is the number of touchdown passes we gave up all season as the Jets. And the biggest reason for that is Darrelle Revis.”
