Lakers to offer Raptors Bynum for Bosh according to the NY Post!
-
IggyPride00According to Peter Vecesy's (hardly a light weight) column this morning in the Post there are rumors circulating the Lakers intend to offer Bynum to the Raptors for Bosh.
Apparently they are concerned about Gasol's hammy, and are better equipped to make a mega trade like that than a small one.
From the Raptors end if you know you are losing Bosh, getting back an All-star Caliber young big man with 3 years on his contract left at reasonable money is far better than they probably could have hoped.
I doubt it will happen, but it makes sense on paper and if the Raptors commit to trade him they would be hard pressed to find a better piece coming back their way.

jordo212000Wow. That would be huge
-
wes_mantoothYikes. That would pretty much seal up another championship for the Lakers if this actually happened.
-
Crimson_Streakbynums salary does not match up with bosh's there would have to add a bunch of fillers or have a 3rd team involved
-
Trueblue23Hmmm...
Mixed thoughts about this one.
Bynum clearly can't play with Gasol, and he isn't the defensive presence he should be.
I'm not ready to give up on Bynum, but adding Bosh would be HUGE! -

Seriously. This sounds like a trade straight out of nba 2k10.jordo212000 wrote: Wow. That would be huge -
Trueblue23I'm still not sure how I feel about this..
For this year only, great deal.
For the future, eh not so much.
Idk what the numbers are, but you would have to imagine that Bosh would have to take a pay cut in order to re-sign with LA in the summer.. unless that is just Mitch's way to dump salary and sign LBJ -
wes_mantoothYeah, money would be a major issue down the road, but when you have a chance to improve on a championship caliber team, you have to do it. Kobe is aging(yes, I know he is still one of the best in the game), and you don't know how many more chances you will get at it.

Skyhook79Ever since Kareem had to stop developing Bynum to deal with his own issues Bynum has gone downhill some.
I say trade him. I don't think he will ever get a whole lot better and he does strugle on the defensive end and thats where the lakers need him most. -
Trueblue23I say there is a 99.9% chance that this DOES NOT happen.
-
2quik4uBynum and Bosh contracts have to be within 80% of each other
-
2quik4uKobe is getting another 10 million next year to

Yeah, it prob won't happen. Most of these alleged trades never happen.....trades that actually happen come from out of no where.Trueblue23 wrote: I say there is a 99.9% chance that this DOES NOT happen. -
wildcats20Am I the only one in the world that does not think Chris Bosh is great?? He is a solid player, all star even, but he does not put any team over the top. I don't get the love affair with him at all....
-
sleeperRaptors won't take this because Bynum is not any good.
-
wes_mantooth
I think he is a great complimentary piece to anyone's puzzle. He can put a borderline Championship team over the top. He is more a 2nd tier all star, but he is head and shoulders above what you get out of Bynum.wildcats20 wrote: Am I the only one in the world that does not think Chris Bosh is great?? hoops23Would give the Lakers another title, but I don't think it happens...
I also agree that Bosh isn't as great as he's made out to be, but he's still VERY good.
I agree with how Wes described him. -
ZombieKillerRaptors would be crazy to accept this trade

Why Bosh is gone after the seasonZombieKiller wrote: Raptors would be crazy to accept this trade -
wildcats20Yeah they might as well get something for him while they can.
-
ZombieKillerI know Bosh is gone. But is Bynum really the answer to replace Bosh?
Hopefully Toronto isn't dumb like Memphis and trade their star player for nothing. -

I agree that it isn't close to an even trade, but lets face it, a lot of teams are losing money and are looking to dump salary. It sucks that it is like that, but just a sign of the times.ZombieKiller wrote: I know Bosh is gone. But is Bynum really the answer to replace Bosh?

I'd say in the long run, Memphis got a pretty good deal...ZombieKiller wrote: I know Bosh is gone. But is Bynum really the answer to replace Bosh?

Marc Gasol is going to be/is currently a BEAST. -
2kool4skoolThere's no way Toronto is getting a better deal than this. There's not a chance in hell Bosh will re-sign with them, they're not contenders this year by any means, why not trade him for a 22 year old who's already an all-star caliber center, who you'll have for at least 3 more years.
If the Lakers actually offer this, Toronto has to take it.
