Pete Carroll to the Seahawks?
-
gorocks99Apparently Mort mentioned it on ESPN. I'd be very very surprised.
-
BCSbunkI am going to have a celebration if this is true.
-
gorocks99"It is expected to happen, according to sources."
WOW. -
georgemc80What will happen to college football if the two biggest "tell them anything to get them here" coaches...Urban and Pete...were not around next year....????
-
karen lotzI just saw that. Kind of came out of no where didn't it?
-
heel023I'd be shocked if he gave up the LA life to go up to Seattle.
Why not just wait a year or two till and NFL team moves to LA and try to become their head coach? -
insuranceguyI find it odd that this could happen and the Reggie Bush info is going to be brought out for public record. Maybe the 2 have nothing to do with each other but seems sort of odd to me.
-
gorocks99He probably wants to get the F outta dodge before the banhammer comes down.
-
fictionPerhaps Pete sees something coming out of these NCAA investigations, and wants to get out while he can.
-
j_crazyhuge news if true.

With no coach and no G.M., Carroll would likely be given full control of the football operations. Many believe that one of his first orders of business would be to hire Pat Kirwan of Sirius NFL Radio and CBS to handle contract negotiations and player evaluations.
Mort also reports that Carroll would bring with him to Seattle his current offensive coordinator, Jeremy Bates. -
OneBuckeyeThat would be amazing... kind of stinks for OSU as they usually don't recruit the same kids... but it would be a huge blow for the PAC 10. I think USC being great has only made the other schools better.
-
justcompeteI love it! Screw the cheating bastard.

darbypitcher22Wouldn't suprise me. The NCAA is about to hammer USC football and basketball any day now....
-
osu99Getting out of dodge seems correct. I don't know about turning over the whole operation to him though.
-
noreply66Get the wrong out of Dodge
-
devil1197He sees the banhammer coming.
-
gorocks99Sounds like it's a done deal -- http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4810861

Exactly. He created a monster, then a mess at USC and now he also sees this>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $35 million over 5 years!!devil1197 wrote: He sees the banhammer coming. -
jordo212000Something definitely seems fishy here. Carroll has turned down better jobs before this one. He did so really without even thinking about it. Now a crappy team in a city that isn't sunny L.A. gets him this quickly? Yeah, right.
Carroll is getting out of dodge -
NateYeah, USC is about to get pwned by the NCAA.
-

I am not sure he has ever gotten an offer that will essentially make him the Mike Holmgren of Seattle in terms of power that also allows him to coach the team.Something definitely seems fishy here. Carroll has turned down better jobs before this one.
He is definitely getting out of dodge, but the situation is perfect as he has complete power over all football operations and has a billionaire owner more than willing to spend. That is a nice combination. -
ts1227He's turned down better jobs before, but USC wasn't coming off of a 4 loss year before and wasn't under at least 2 investigations before.
At the same time, as was mentioned Carroll has wanted control and had said that not having it was part of his problem in the NFL in the past. This coupled with an owner with some money to spend, and then adding in the USC stuff, makes it perfect.
