Mavs play at home Saturday night, and the NFL set the Cowboys home game at the same time, which means even though the Mavs are sold out many will not show. This has pissed off Mark Cuban, and he calls the NFL selfish because there was definitely some flexibility in what game got played when.
I can see it both ways. The NFL is a bully and Goodell is quite the power tripping asshole, but Cuban can be one whiny bitch as well.
Thoughts? -
Manhattan BuckeyeThoughts - no one cares about a crappy NBA game at this point in the season. This isn't the first time a city has hosted two events on the same night.
-
gorocks99Oh waaa.
-
darbypitcher22yeah, nobody cares about the Mavs in January unless Tony Homo and the Boys aren't in the playoffs....
-
hasbeenIt's the playoffs. PLAYOFFS!
-
Gobuckeyes1NFL playoffs >>>>>>>> NBA regular season. Even NBA basketball die hards know this.
Cuban needs to realize that the whole world doesn't revolve around him and STFU. -
thedynasty1998I don't blame the NFL, but I can see why Cuban is upset because the NFL could have just as easily scheduled it at another time.
-
queencitybuckeyeThe NFL should do what it believes is best for the NFL. The NBA doesn't factor into the equation at all.
-
dazedconfusedi see both sides but cuban needs to suck it up...it's the freaking playoffs
-
Strapping Young LadWho the fuck even thinks about the NBA unless they see it first????
-
wkfanJust another in the long line of reasons that the NBA sucks.

Yeah but they want to put the most popular game during the best time slot. They NFL owes nothing to NBA, especially during the regular season.thedynasty1998 wrote: I don't blame the NFL, but I can see why Cuban is upset because the NFL could have just as easily scheduled it at another time. -
Al BundyI am sure the Mavs have scheduled games when there are other events going in Dallas.
-
HereticStupid NFL for not taking into consideration every single event that may be happening in a city when setting their playoff schedule.
-
baseballstud24I bet the NFL didn't even think about the Mavs game.

I don't think that's the case, Cuban was saying the sports leagues could at least work together a little (not saying I agree completely though).Heretic wrote: Stupid NFL for not taking into consideration every single event that may be happening in a city when setting their playoff schedule. -
RiverRat13The NFL could have perhaps flipped the Cowboys/Eagles with the Cardinals/Packers. But I think the league wanted the two early games to be the AFC games as both are cold weather cities (Cincinnati and New England) and didn't want those to be at night.
-
End of Line
They don't care, as long as "America's Team" is on at prime time the NFL is happy.baseballstud24 wrote: I bet the NFL didn't even think about the Mavs game. -
osu99The NFL and most everyone else could care less about any other sport's regular season when the an NFL game is on. Playoffs or not.

Exactly, and another point is how many times did the Mavericks play a home playoff game while the Rangers were also in town over the past several years? Was he not sympathetic to the Rangers all those times? He's a complete hypocrite.osu99 wrote: The NFL and most everyone else could care less about any other sport's regular season when the an NFL game is on. Playoffs or not.
He's just being stupid, the weekend games make perfect sense, and I'm not sure the NFL even made the schedule as opposed to the networks. The marquee game got the Saturday night spot, and all games make sense geographically and weather wise. The eastern, colder locations get the early slots and the more western, warmer locations get the late spots. -
Manhattan BuckeyeBTW Cuban's tweet about the Celtics appears to be incorrect, according to yahoo they play AT the Raptors on Sunday.
