Browns @ Houston Draft Picks

like_thatWellp, at least this game helps draft status regardless of win/lose.

like_thatGod damn it. I did this thru my phone, can somebody move this to pro Sports?

Commander of AwesomeWho's into starting Hogan?

If they don't start him wtf was the point of taking him out at halftime? Might as well give him a week of game plan to see what he can do. Then make a decision in the bye week.Commander of Awesome;1876215 wrote:Who's into starting Hogan? -

like_thatI much rather stick with Kizer and either he figures it out (he won't) or we tank. Hogan accidentally finding the Browns a couple wins does nothing for me. The Jets fans who are happy with their 3-2 record right now are going to regret this season. I look back at the 2011 season where the Browns won 4 close games that could have easily went the other way. They started the season 2-1, which made some of us happy. I wish they lost all of those games to get Luck.

I think the issue here is the lack of plan or sticking to the plan. If the goal was to roll with Kizer, why switch? Hue just trying to save his job?like_that;1876236 wrote:I much rather stick with Kizer and either he figures it out (he won't) or we tank. thavoiceWith JJ Watt out the Browns offense should have some success and I don't believe they will have any problems with Houston.

Starting Hogan is Hue just trying to save his job. Frankly, I don't see them winning a game and I see Hue being out after this year. Have to show some positive momentum after going 1-15, not backwards.Commander of Awesome;1876244 wrote:I think the issue here is the lack of plan or sticking to the plan. There's no reason to start Hogan, even though he gives you a better chance to win. As I said before, I think Kizer was the starter all along. With all of the draft capital they have in 2018, what's it hurt to take a flyer on a QB in the 2nd round, throw him out there with limited resources, and see if he can rise above it? If he flourishes, you may just have your QB. If not, next.... -
SportsAndLadyYeah I don’t understand benching Kizer. Just throw him out there and see if he improves.
This is where I hate when the FO and head coach aren’t on the same page. The FO should tell Hue that he doesn’t have to worry about losing his job this year, that way Hue doesn’t feel obligated to jeopardize our future to win 3 games and save his job.
But I’m not at all surprised this is all happening. When you play “penis flickers” (COA shoutout) with your QB position and don’t take obvious QB selections, this is what happens. -

This. I don't want this team to be fucking stupid and steal a couple wins, because they decided to start Hogan. Just roll with Kizer. If he shows signs of life, then good for us. If not, we get a good pick.SportsAndLady;1876453 wrote:Yeah I don’t understand benching Kizer. Just throw him out there and see if he improves.

Excellent article. Let's hope he actually figured it out this time. It sounds like he finally has good people in his corner that can help him

Throw back to Peyton Hillis. That NE game was fun. -
BR1986FBThat dude was bizarre, period. Wasn't there something about him saying he was joining the FBI or something?
-
Commander of AwesomeThey discuss that in the video.

You're both dead on in this. You're not going anywhere, if he still doesn't improve then you're drafting a QB anyways. Putting him on the bench doesn't make any sense.like_that;1876460 wrote:This. Did the bengals make a mistake with benching Palmer for an entire season with Kitna behind center? Did the Packers make a mistake benching Aaron Rodgers for the yrs sitting behind Farve? Not saying it's exactly the same situation obviously, but fuck Kizer ain't ready and it's evident. Hogan fro my eyes, has easily outperformed him. This is a results business, watching the browns with Hogan is much more enjoyable than with Kizer ATM. Kizer doesn't like it, he can either work harder improve or not. Can't continue to sit here and watch him bounce balls off the turf, throwing shitting picks, bad shovel passes, etc... What about njoku's development? Or anyone else on offense's development?vball10set;1876512 wrote:from a local writer, but echoing these same sentiments...

This says the most to me. For as much as I'd like to see Kizer play out the year, this is something to ponder. I was furious when I saw Njoku standing alone in the end zone (announcers brought it to everyone's attention) in that last game. It has to be frustrating when you're in a position to do something positive for your team and the QB can't/won't scour the field and see you open to make a play. It seems like Hogan has the field vision to make these throws. I'm torn on it because I want to see watchable football but I also want to see if this guy (Kizer) is worth moving forward with as your guy or not.Commander of Awesome;1876517 wrote:What about njoku's development? Plus I think Hogan looks more comfortable taking snaps from under center, which only helps their miserable running game. -

No I didn't, I get the argument. Hue said we're sticking with him, and then we didn't. BooHoo Kizer, stop playing like ass.vball10set;1876519 wrote:^^^it comes as no surprise, but somebody certainly missed the point of this article--thanks anyway -
BR1986FBIt's pretty bad that every time they get in the red zone (with Kizer), I'm not thinking "how are they going to score" as much as "how's Kizer going to screw this up?"
-
slingshot4everA win would really help draft status IMO. Even if we go 2-14 we will finish with worst record and get 1st pick. This might as well be one of those wins to then knock down Houston record at same time.

Commander of Awesome[INDENT]Kevin Hogan portrayed as nondescript backup QB, yet he posted superior combine numbers compared to DeShone Kizer. Better SPARQ athlete

You guys, FO/Coaching staff might be on the same page afterall. -

I don't think Kizer's the one crying--I'm sure he feels, like you, that he needs to play better.Commander of Awesome;1876525 wrote:No I didn't, I get the argument. Hue said we're sticking with him, and then we didn't. BooHoo Kizer, stop playing like ass.
