Browns vs Giants

    D starts off good.
    Nice return by Peppers.
Osweiller still can't put it on a WR. Get him tf out of there.
  • SportsAndLady
Osweiler is like 8 feet tall, how is he getting balls tipped at the LOS?
  • kizer permanente
Because he releases it roughly by his hip. He's a god damn idiot that has been terrible his whole career. Cut him.
  • iclfan2
Haden not looking that good on 3rd down either. Glad they picked up peppers flag

And dink and dunk comes up empty again with a terrible overthrow on his only real pass.
Hue can leave with him if he's on the roster come opening day.

I know OP is a troll or hates Brock, but I don't see what the veterans see in him to want him to start (per Rapaport). He hasn't looked good tonight or in practice from what I've heard.

Definitely hate Brock. Kizer should be starting, but even if you're bringing in Kessler I can see that. Not that he's any good either. But there's a reason the Texans gave us him and a 2nd rounder. It's not because he belongs in the league.

Another long season. Kizer has a lot to learn... namely getting rid of the ball. The stupid penalties are still killing every drive.
  • iclfan2
Kizer takes too many sacks on the pocket, as per college. Something he really needs to work on. Oh, and slide!

Yeah for as much as you have to like about his vision and foot work, his holding onto the ball drives you nuts. He doesn't have a clock in his head or the feel for pressure yet. Will it ever come? Who knows. I hope so. He's got the tools to be good. Unlike every other qb on this team.

Good score on a short field. Something you have to do.

We look improved from our start against the Saints, esp on defense! Love the toughness of the defense tonight.

Garret looks like a stud, I'd sit him until the reg season.

Like to see Joe Shoe making plays.

Haden, oh Haden. You just don't have it anymore.

Stupid tackle by BBC, even though it was legal I don't like it.

Osweiler is slow in every sense. Slow to read, slow to react, slow throwing mechanics. Doesn't set his feet and misses a wide open play to Nijoku. The play before the over throw, he missed a wde open throw to the RWR, which would have been a 1st down. Kizer is the superior QB at this point.

Like that Hue is calling more runs, Daynes looks like a nice pick. And like what I'm seeing from Hollywood Higgins so far. This is so much better than the Preseason opener.

Agree with most of the above minus the BBC take. Can't go high, I'll take a hit like that all day.
Still no clue what the heck they're watching in practice thinking Osweiller has "it".

I also think BBC stumbled a bit too which caused him to go low. Kizer was ok, Brock is just terrible. That pick Kizer threw was just a bad decision, but you will get that from a rookie. I love what I see out of dayes. I personally like him more over duke. Nassib also looks very good

Went back and rewatched, I agree. Still hate to see that kind of hit on anyone not named Rapistfucker/Goodell/Joakim Noah

This team is going to be very frustrating, early on, in the year. The defense looked really good and should be able to keep them in games but I just don't know if they have enough on offense.

Garrett looked good but the one that has impressed the Hell out of me is Peppers. That guy is going to break a couple of returns this year and he has no fear of laying the wood on defense.

Looks like Joe Schobert really wants a starting spot too. His play really jumped out at me.

    And now, for the offense.

Obviously they are working with a patchwork O-Line (no Bitonio or JT) in these first games but it would be nice to see them run the ball more effectively. If the defense plays like it can, they are going to need the running game because I have a feeling the QB's will do them no favors.

As far as the QB's go, if Hue doesn't want to bite the bullet and start Kizer (he's nowhere near ready, btw), he might as well start noodle arm Kessler. He can get the same dink & dunk performance out of him and probably won't get balls batted up in the air for INT's. I have no confidence that BO can lead this offense to TD's but I bet that's the direction Hue goes.

As far as Kizer goes, saw a few good things but he's nowhere near ready to start. Unless they dumb down the offense significantly, he holds the ball too long/takes drive killing sacks and it seems like he has issues getting the plays called on time/delay of game. BO looks so bad, I'd be tempted to start Kizer but his confidence already seems a little rattled.

Overall, pretty pleased with the defense, which could be fun to watch, but this offense is going to neuter their process.

I know it's early and only preseason, but Zeitler certainly hasn't impressed me so far--especially for what the Browns are paying him.

I don't see the benefit in sitting Kizer at this point. Sure he's not ready. But him being not ready is still a better QB than Osweiler or Kessler. At least he can move the offense. The learning curve is that much quicker when you're playing vs watching. Will he still take sacks from holding to the ball.... Yes. Will he still throw picks from bad reads... Yes. Will the Browns still lose games... of course. But you're a better team/offense with him in and you get to see if you have a future in him or he is what he is and you draft a QB next year. Having him sit behind Bum#1 and #2 isn't going to help him or the team. And we'll at least get to see some good with the bad with Kizer in. We'll just see bad with bad with Osweiler and Kessler.

You'll see him leave horizontally if he plays like last night.

You just described Kessler. Say what you want about Kizer not being ready, but he's the best QB we got on the roster ATM. So him not being ready also shows that neither is BO or Kessler.

They ran behind him on the TD. I was impressed there.

The only negative play I saw was him not getting to JPP on his sack. JPP is a fucking stud tho and I blame the shitty playcall in that situation over Zeitler.

That play, and called for two false start penalties as well...just sayin'

No disagreement there. Kid needs to learn to slide and they need to quit calling read option plays in the NFL. Although I will say it's not surprising to see a rookie not slide when he's trying to win the starting job.
