gorocks99Related note, congrats to the USA World Junior squad ... 6-5 winners over Team Canada to take their first U20 championship since 2004!
-
End of Line^^^^^I watched that game online. I have to say it was the greatest hockey game I've ever watched/witness. It was incredible, congrats to the USA World Junior team!
-
KnightXC1We have some good defensman on the back line to try and slow down the big lines from Canada, Sweden, and Russia but I fear we are lacking a lot up front. Will be very tough to get a medal this time around.
-
End of Line^^^^^True. But with the Olympics using North American ice, I see the bottom-6 being all hard grinding lines. I wish Drury and Komisarek weren't on this team.

I see you copied his name right off the back of the jersey that the kid was wearing...The_Crosby_Show wrote: Forwards:

KnightXC1Crosby - the "home ice" will certainly help us out some but it will take a tremendous effort every game to hang with the big 3 teams. I don't mind Drury though but those last 2 lines will need to outplay the bottom lines on other teams every night and establish a physical prescence right away.

Defense is the weakest part of that team...We have some good defensman on the back line to try and slow down the big lines from Canada, Sweden, and Russia but I fear we are lacking a lot up front. Will be very tough to get a medal this time around. -

Very true, I think Burke did a good job with who the bottom 6 are going to be, and how they will be used. Miller will have to play on his head for this team to get a medal.KnightXC1 wrote: Crosby - the "home ice" will certainly help us out some but it will take a tremendous effort every game to hang with the big 3 teams. Espically now, that martin isn't expected to be healthy in time for the Olympics. Who's the replacement Ryan Whitney???paulspadafora wrote:

rock_knutneBill Guerin should have made this team. He's having a great year and would have brought a wealth of experience to team USA.
-
End of Line^^^^^I'm sorry(Pens fan to Pens fan), but he was left off for a reason. He's struggled all season long, and Burke wanted to go with a youth movement with just a couple of veterans.
-
rock_knutne^^^^^^Guerin has struggled? He has 31 points, 14 goals and 17 assists. IMO, that's above average in the league and the guy's experience is irreplaceable. Who did Crosby go to for advice during the playoffs last year?
-
GeneralsIcer89Chris Drury should not be on this team.
-
Laley23The only chance this team has is to be MUCH more physical (particularly in the offensive zone with forechecks) because they are severely lacking in the skills department vs the other big teams.
-
End of Line
He floats around, can't finish a one timer, can't win a battle along the boards. He's not the player he used to be............I like him being on the Pens but, I was glad not to see him not on this team.rock_knutne wrote: ^^^^^^Guerin has struggled? Sorry bro, but we can agree to disagree. Honestly, have you been watching Bill Guerin at all this year?The_Crosby_Show wrote:

End of Line^^^^^I've been watching him all year(the games I can find online) but I just don't think he can produce at the olympics. If you really want to see some harsh criticism go the Penguins board on HFboards. Nasty stuff over there.

Those morons don't have a clue about what there saying. IMO, big mistake not including Bill Guerin on team USA.......he can produce points, scores big goals and is a leader.The_Crosby_Show wrote: ^^^^^I've been watching him all year(the games I can find online) but I just don't think he can produce at the olympics. KnightXC1Seeing Rafalski get one of the alternate captain spots makes me happy as he is really a class guy and a leader. Langenbrunner is a good choice for the captain as well.
-
End of LinePeople on HF are asking each other, if Drury isn't captain or an alternate, why is he on the team??? Others are saying that he will anchor the 3/4th line and will also anchor the PK unit. Just because he doesn't have a letter on his sweater doesn't mean he won't be a leader.
