Mayweather vs. McGregor

  • Automatik
How is there not a thread on this?

Tuned in to some of the presser yesterday, hilarious stuff. Especially the part when Floyd Sr. got involved.

I don't think McGregor has a shot in hell, but I'll be pulling for a miracle. I may even put $100 in it.

The world's best hope is that McGregor gets hit a few times, forgets what sport he's in and goes pure "kick to face + ground and pound" on Mayweather until permanent damage is done.

lol, people keep bringing that up. I believe there is a clause if that happens which means less money for Conor. Not gonna happen.

Did anyone see mcgregor's suit? A+

Mayweather is so obnoxious. How do you owe the IRS $22M? Unfortunately, McGregor probably has 0 chance.

I don't think the IRS thing is a big deal. Yes he owes, but isn't that a common practice with very rich people? Not to pay until the very last minute?

I think it is from 2015, and the IRS filed a lien on it. Rich smart people don't wait that long. Why would you invite investigation from the IRS?

I don't think he's obnoxious for not paying it, just that he is an idiot. His explanation is that he can't get that much "liquid" cash right now to pay it until after this fight. And it isn't a big deal bc the IRS just wants their money, they won't really fine you as long as you set up a plan to pay what you owe.

The POS talked "9 figure" paydays all the time but can't pay his taxes. LOL

    It's Boxing-McGregor has no change
If it was MMA-Mayweather would have no chance.

I think McGregor has more of a chance (1%) in Boxing than Mayweather would have (0%) in MMA.

Oh, I know it won't, but a guy can dream! That'd be the only thing making this dog remotely exciting, I think.

$99.99 is absurd, but fuck it...I'm watching.

It's the night before my sister's wedding and we're getting it at the groomsmen's Air BnB so we "behave."

Will watch. Won't pay for the whole thing. Going to a watch party at my neighbors house. I will smoke some chicken wings or make something delicious. I'll offer to chip in for the fight but he won't take it. Everyone likes a good fight party. It's tempting to put some money on the big underdog McGregor and hope he lands a KO punch but the smart play is probably to lay 600 to win 100 on Money May but what's the fun in that? I'll find some degenerate on Twitter who follows boxing and bet his bets on the under card for something to root for.

Over 9.5 rounds at +140 seems tempting. Floyd fights usually go to the decision. Does everyone agree that McGregor's only chance is to knock him out? There's no chance he can go the distance and win a decision, right? I don't follow the sport other than the very rare big fights.

Ill be in Albany New York working. Hoping its over in time to maybe catch it at a bar if they aren't all sold out...

The best part of this "fight" will be the hype/appearances leading up to it over the next few days. I expect some real pro wrestling-type stuff, especially from McGregor.

Here is an original take that nobody has come up with yet! McGregor and Dana will be laughing all the way to the bank after this is said and done. This really is a no lose situation for both of them. McGregor's brand (and the UFC) didn't suffer when he moved up two weight classes and lost to Diaz. It's not going to suffer if he loses a boxing match to an all time great.

Yesterday's event was pretty bad. WWF-like garbage.

That's sad. But you can still stream it online. Or kinda just watch the replay. Congrats on your sister.

Were will an online stream be available?
  • vball10set
don't really gaf about this 'fight', other than to hope McGregor puts Mayweather in the hospital
  • Automatik
Apparently they are making a big push to shutdown a majority of streaming sites prior to the fight, but I feel they say that all the time before a big boxing/UFC event.
  • iclfan2
I usually have good luck for NFL streams by googling "reddit streams".
