No way anyone scores on that. Zero chance Votto makes it. When Brantley picked the ball up from the ground Billy was halfway between 3rd and home. From the time Hamilton took off until the time he touched home was 9.6 seconds. The average player there is a play at the plate and slower players are either risky going or hold at 3rd. And I'd bet my house Bartolo Colon doesn't score on that.Laley23;1855044 wrote:It was just an awful attempt, not the wrong play.
Glove be was the wrong way. Turned his head well before the ball arrived and overall just wasn't very good. Not locating the ball was the worst part though. Allowed Hamilton (or anyone) to score.
It was fortunate by the Reds as Brantley was in no man's land...had to go for it but in between steps on when to dive. If not for Hamilton beating out a double play that I'm not sure anyone else beats out....none of this happens. -

You didn't actually take my Bartolo comment seriously, did you?Ironman92;1855056 wrote:No way anyone scores on that. Zero chance Votto makes it. My point was, I have little doubt anyone with decent speed is scoring on that play. It's basically a single with 2 outs and you're starting in scoring position, because of the stolen base attempt. -
Laley23Lost in yesterday was another strong outing by Bauer.

Agree on decent speed. After researching video Billy was just 1 step beyond 3rd when Brantley picked it up. Looks also like ball tailed on Brantley a touch near the end too.Laley23;1855063 wrote:You didn't actually take my Bartolo comment seriously, did you?

You guys will either destroy Adelman or be irritated by scoring 2-3 runs in 6 innings when you could've had 5+. He's been decent this year to my surprise. -

SportsAndLadyHate a team because they're in your state?
Hm, that's odd! -

sorry, don't see where I used the word 'hate'...just a good old fashioned rivalry thingSportsAndLady;1855108 wrote:Hate a team because they're in your state?

SportsAndLadyI honestly never knew the Indians and reds had a rivalry going lol

Ironman92I rooted for the Indians a great deal in last year's playoffs.
If the Reds aren't involved I have zero issue with Cleveland winning it all. Lindor easily one of my favorite players. -
iclfan2Does it look like they're gonna get this one in tonight?

I would be you, if the roles were reversed.Ironman92;1855127 wrote:I rooted for the Indians a great deal in last year's playoffs.

BRFJust read an interesting article by Bob Dyer of the Akron Beacon Journal about the inaccurate tab and bad example in math given to kids on the baseball scoreboards. Turns out that OBP and Slugging Percentage should be called "average", not percentage. Hmmmm.......never thought about it like that.

Ironman92Laley....I just realized that crazy play came on a 1-0 count....I knew Billy was running but for whatever reason thought it was a 3-2 count and everyone would be running....it being 1-0 count is way different. Not many would've been stealing.
Not to be an ass I just talked myself into it being a 3-2 count. -
Laley23
lol, wel obviously I'm assuming a stolen base attempt in saying someone would score. Nobody is scoring without stealingIronman92;1855184 wrote:Laley....I just realized that crazy play came on a 1-0 count....I knew Billy was running but for whatever reason thought it was a 3-2 count and everyone would be running....it being 1-0 count is way different.
