You spelled "this season" wrong. (I know I know..it's been 8 games.)

Not only has EE failed to get the runners home, he has looked terrible at the plate.

Yes, lazy. He has been very, dry good for over a year. That opinion seems to be stemming from when he was young and learning to pitch still, a few years ago.

Lazy. O.K. I thought I accepted that already. It was a lazy take....it's still my "take".

That opinion, my opinion was based on last fall and his first two starts. His stuff is nasty. It's almost so nasty it seems like he struggles to control it. I didn't say he hasn't been good. Hell, he's certainly been effective. I'm just a guy lazily watching and commenting is all.

Way to make Robertson look like Mariano...fugly.
  • BRF
Right down the middle for strike three.

My point was that he got hurt the start before last years ASG. He wasn't healthy at all the second half of the season. To judge his control in that timeframe makes no sense.

Holy shit defending World Series contenders looks like shit since the first series. 0 offense

I don't know that I was judging as much as I was observing what I was seeing. Not being healthy may lend to my observations being even more accurate. Wouldn't it? It would stand to reason that not being fully while still having such nasty stuff would be difficult to control.

For some reason you seem to be receiving my comments as being negative towards him when it was really focused on the sick movement he has in many of his pitches. Just watching what was going on is all. It is in fact a lazy "take"...nothing more. Can I possibly agree with you any more?

Meh. We are fine. Never been fast starters in April in recent years. Just don't get in a hole.

Anything .500 or better in April and we will be fine.

He's really pressing--seems to want to validate that big contract a little too much.

Only Lindor has shown up this year.

EE can be frustrating and his character being aloof doesn't help his cause when things aren't going well. He's been a slow starter several times. He also isn't playing in the division of band box stadiums.

When he warms up he is an RBI machine that can carry an offense..but he will irritate Indians fans at times this season.

He might just need the guy from Totonto in CF signaling pitches.

It certainly looks like it. He needs to be more patient at the plate and hit his pitch.., way too anxious.

If that is the main issue, I have trust in Tito resolving it.

If we are being fair, and others were hitting, we would be saying:

"Man, look at this offense right now. Just wait till EE gets going!!"

So I am not worried at all. The pitching has been there, which is most important.

Exactly. Every year since Tito took over we have been slow starters. Just be 500 or around it through may and we will be perfectly fine. I'm not too worried, the offense is too talented to not hit.

Yep. That stems from his approach. He doesn't want these guys to change anything. Even their routines and study habits or whatever. Sometimes, to a fault, as it can linger longer than needs to and doesn't get fixed. But he has always preached to stay the course long term and not change anything. Its why once he settles on a lineup, he wont shake it up at all (not counting injuries/days off or platoons), if a guy is slated as the 5 hitter, he is the 5 hitter until he sucks into June.

With the way he handled the team, especially the staff, during our run last year, I trust Tito implicitly...the guy's a baseball god as far as I'm concerned.

Chisenhall has been activated and is in the lineup tonight, Naquin has been sent down to Columbus.

    Go Tribe.

Tomlin first pitch and its a HR. Sox 1-0.
  • TBone14
I called for Tomlin regression in my pre season predictions and he wouldn't make the postseason roster. Last year was a wet dream. Hope I'm wrong but I'm betting against him every start until the market adjusts.

    He was -175 tonight...which is a joke.

Fuck postseason roster...will Tomlin be in the rotation by the All Star break?
