MulvaWhat an amazing run for major sports championships.

cat_loverAtlanta owner Arthur Blank pulls a Jerry Jones and leaves his box at the start of the 4th quarter at least he got to see the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history up close.

ironman02If Atlanta would have just stuck to running the football in the second half, they would be Super Bowl Champions. The Patriots have basically been handed their last two championships because Seattle and Atlanta tried to get cute with play calling.
3rd and 1, up 28-12 and in control of the game. Let's drop back to pass, get sacked, fumble, and then let the Patriots back into the game. Then let's follow that up by ruining one of the greatest catches ever by Julio Jones. 1st and 10 at the NE 22, leading 28-20, and under 5 minutes to go. Run the ball three times, kick the FG, and win the Super Bowl. Nope, sack, holding penalty, incomplete pass, punt. Then the Falcons offense basically never saw the ball again. Just absurd. -

Steve Young laying pretty good blame on Matt Ryan on those happenings.ironman02;1835631 wrote:If Atlanta would have just stuck to running the football in the second half, they would be Super Bowl Champions. This is Kyle shannahan in a nutshell. Gets way too cute. -

Azubuike24Funny to see on Twitter there are Niners fans already wanting him gone if this is how he's going to manage their team. Then again, he is a big reason they got there...

as much as it pains me to admit it, you are 100% correct -
IliketurtlesJust finished watching the super bowl again and still amazed at how it ended. The incompetence to not just run the ball 3 times after Julio's amazing catch will always be the reason for me why the Falcons lost. Also speaking of Julio he was targeted 4 times that's just inexcusable for one of the best WRs in the game.
Props to Brady and the Pats they never gave up. James White was amazing. Brady was already the GOAT for me last night just puts him further ahead of everyone trying to catch him. -

They really seemed to over the top double cover him.Iliketurtles;1835671 wrote: Also speaking of Julio he was targeted 4 times that's just inexcusable for one of the best WRs in the game. -

The Falcons lost because their defense just straight ran out of gas and their play calling in critical moment was terrible. Not sure why the Falcons are even trying to pass the ball inside the 25, with an 8 point lead with 3 minutes remaining in the game. 3 runs and a FG ends the game. -
SonofanumpApparently, Ryan audibled out of a run play to get sacked at that point in the game.

I heard that to....think Steve Young said itSonofanump;1835819 wrote:Apparently, Ryan audibled out of a run play to get sacked at that point in the game. -
Azubuike24Funny, everyone is blaming Shanahan, but that would basically put the entire loss on Ryan. That WAS the play that changed the game. Matt Bryant is almost automatic and it's hard to believe he misses a 47-yarder or whatever it would've been, in a dome.

wildcats20So Sark leaves Saban after 1 game to take over for Shanahan in Atlanta.
I'm sure the media won't run with it, but that is Saban's last 2 play callers leaving him for equal or lower caliber jobs. -
Azubuike24
Just because Saban is the best coach ever, doesn't mean he's necessarily the easiest to work for...wildcats20;1835884 wrote:So Sark leaves Saban after 1 game to take over for Shanahan in Atlanta.

You think being an OC in the NFL is equal to being one in the NCAA? I mean I know it's Alabama and all but this is definitely a step up for Sark.wildcats20;1835884 wrote:So Sark leaves Saban after 1 game to take over for Shanahan in Atlanta.
