vball10setOtero gets the job done, Shaw needs to keep it a one run game
edit: and he does -
TBone14Tomlin has gone from a CY Young contender to a guy who might not make the playoff roster in a month and a half.

HitsRus not tonight.

TBone14That was a loser from the start. No worries. Kluber on the bump tomorrow. Go win a series vs a 1st place team.

Laley23Not sure Tonlin was ever a CYA contender lol. But, he did look like a guy who could be a solid 4 in the playoffs. Kinda like Byrd in 2007. Now, I hope he isn't even on the roster. Despite what the older posters on here tell me about him knowing how to pitch and other guys on our roster not there yet...ill take Bauer all day over Tomlin at this point.

yup, along with Kluber, Carrasco, and maybe even Clevenger...jury's still out for me on SalazarLaley23;1808232 wrote:...ill take Bauer all day over Tomlin at this point. -

My thougts as well. 2/3 versus Toronto would be a nice boost heading toward the home stretch. Especially with Detroit going versus BostonTBone14;1808230 wrote:That was a loser from the start. No worries. Kluber on the bump tomorrow. Go win a series vs a 1st place team.

I can't get a read here. He looked great, then his mental issue with his shoulder and the bad start off the DL. Is he actually hurt? Did he need a rehab?? Who knows? But I do know his stuff is 10x that of Tomlinsvball10set;1808237 wrote:yup, along with Kluber, Carrasco, and maybe even Clevenger...jury's still out for me on Salazar -

I'm not sure either, that's why the jury's still out with me...all I know is that we need him, but at 100%Laley23;1808239 wrote:I can't get a read here. SonofanumpTigers lost to keep pace, +7, 41.

still a long way to go, but feeling pretty good about this. We won't deserve it, and we won't go anywhere if we don't finish strong, so all we need to do is play good ball and no one will catch us.Sonofanump;1808254 wrote:Tigers lost to keep pace, +7, 41.
The thing that has concerned me most since the AllStar break is our starting pitching, a previous strong point. Fortunately, Kluber appears to be finishing strong… But Carrasco has been a bit inconsistent. Bauer has been Bauer, Unhittable one game ineffective the next. I'm worried about Salazar, this injury has been nagging him. ... He is not at all star pitcher and he is not a post season possibility unless he is healthy. Tomlin is only effective if he is executing.... And he has been making way too many costly mistakes lately. He is not a post season picture right now, at this point. Basically, we wait until the finish line to determine the postseason rotation and go with the hot hands. The great thing about the Indians and this pitching staff is that we actually have choices. -
BRFAnd just as Hammy was extolling Kluber, Upton slams a homer.
1-0 T3 -
vball10setKluber looked rattled that inning (3rd), something I haven't seen from him...we need to stop hitting into double plays and score him some runs.
-
vball10setGotta get Kipnis out of his mini slump--he's 4 for his last 23 with 7 K's
-
vball10setClevinger out of the pen? I don't like it--I want him to keep that starter's mindset, cause I have a feeling we're going to need him there...jmo...and fwiw, Kluber only going 7 is not what the doctor ordered.
-
Laley23Clevinger seems like an odd choice here...
-
Laley23
He came out of the pen a few games ago, when Salazar made his rehab...I mean, regular...start.vball10set;1808276 wrote:Clevinger out of the pen? I don't like it--I want him to keep that starter's mindset, cause I have a feeling we're going to need him there...jmo
He was great, but started the inning clean, not bases loaded. -
Laley23Clevinger showed a lot there. That was impressive.
-
vball10set
Yes it was, but I think our pen is solid enough that we don't need him as a reliever. I like him as a starter--especially with Tomlin's woes and Salazar's questionable status.Laley23;1808279 wrote:Clevinger showed a lot there. That was impressive. -

You have more faith than me. I love our Pen with a lead, but not when we are behind (but still in the game). We can't use Miller/Shaw/Allen in games when we aren't winning, because we need them fresh for when we are winning. But our Pen can let a 1 run deficit get out of hand quick. Only Otero, really, can keep us in a game when behind. If Clevinger can be another guy, I'm all for it.vball10set;1808281 wrote:Yes it was, but I think our pen is solid enough that we don't need him as a reliever. vball10setI sure hope Tito didn't make another blunder by sending Allen out instead of Miller...
