Maybe he was saving Rajai to pinch run later...I don't know. The guy pitching was a lefty and we apparently just traded for a guy whosent specialty is to hit lefties. Seems like a logical choice.

Austin Adams is horrible. Carrasco was beyond awful. The bullpen was great. The offense rallied to make it a game and Austin Adams all be seals the deal.

10-6. Mid 9. Adams gives up a huge 2 run bomb to a slap hitter.

    From Underwood...

    In 2 games...the Twins have 8 homers. 2 triples and 9 doubles.

    Un freaking real.

    Ok. Let's stay on Topic.

Almonte has been hitting well as of late and has raised his average to .280+....he has nothing to do with the pitching problems of late.

I said this right after the AS break and was chided for it--our strength is now our weakness, plain and simple.

I'm heading to Progressive on Thursday, and it's been a while, so I need some pointers...I'm getting there @10:00, any suggestions where to park? also, my son is driving in from Cbus, so what's a good bar close to the field where we could meet?? thanks in advance for your suggestions
  • iclfan2
I haven't had to park in years up there bc we used to walk from Tremont, but the lot behind the Q is pretty nice, and you are close to Harry Buffalo and all of the bars/ restaurants on East 4th. Then you have the typical Panini's / Clevelander/ Winking Lizard that a lot of people seem to pregame at, and then even closer to the stadium is Wilbert's. None of these places is new, but maybe Fab or someone else can give you any new spots.

If you're drinking...hard to go wrong. If you want to sit outside...Thirsty Parrot has a nice patio and you'll easily be able to get a seat at that time. The Clevelander/Panini's usually have a pretty good setup outside with tables and drink carts so you don't need to go inside and get drinks. For lunch, I like the Winking Lizard or something on East 4th but you can never go wrong with a good old-fashioned Panini's sandwich.

Also, reps for Wilbert's. Underrated spot. Cheap drinks. Great food. You can really get a good buzz going pregame there.

    EDIT:
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to iclfan2 again.

True. The entire reason the team is struggling right now is all because of one bench/platoon player. Not the pitching or anything like that. Just one guy who has a total of 41 ABs over 18 games.

    Would read again.

Park in the centerfield garage.....go down 9th street past rightfield area and Feller and Thome statues...about 100ft...and take a left down alley behind the bleachers.(you'll pass the Thirsty Parrot on the right) Parking there is $15, and you could meet at the Parrot.

You also could park directly in the Parrot parking lot off that same alley...parking there is a little more expensive....maybe $20?

Excited for Tomlin tonight. He's been our stopper for the better part of a year now. After watching Danny and Cookie groove meatballs the last two nights...it may be refreshing to watch a pitcher locate and execute pitches for a change. Hopefully, he is sharp tonight.

EDIT: Check that...Bauer tonight. What was I thinking?

Yea.... Bauer hasn't gotten a win since July 1st, and the Minnesota pitcher is 2-0 against us (but a 6.12 ERA in general and is 5-8)

    Will the bleeding stop tonight?

Bauer was 7-2 with a 3.02 ERA after that 5 innings of that ridiculous 19 inning game on July 1st.....he pitched 5 innings on 3 days rest.

Numbers from that time and since:

Up to the end of that game: 7-2 3.02 ERA, 95 innings, 7 HR allowed

    Since: 0-2 6.43 ERA 21 innings, 5 HR allowed

Dusty Baker did a similar thing to Aaron Harang about 8 years ago and he was very good before pitching the extended relief appearance and flat out terrible the rest of the season.

I don't know that there is anything to it but the timing definitely matches up.

    Go Tribe!!!
  • iclfan2
Bauer doesn't want to show any of his teammates up. So he gives up 2 runs to start the game. He's going to have pitched 30 pitches before this inning is over. It's the first....

Jesus Christ, Bauer, what a pathetic showing...our starters have been downright embarrassing
  • Gardens35
A bit fortunate to get out of the 1st only down 2-0. Bauer w/34 pitches.

Tribe should be able to hit this guy.
  • vball10set
    23 balls, 23 strikes...in the 2nd fricking inning...unbelievable

    Serious Business.

Tito has to seriously consider pulling Bauer--to hell with his feelings, he's horrendous tonight, with no sign of improving
  • TBone14
Mauer is 9-13 with 5 doubles this series. Just hit an 0-2 pitch for a 2 RBI double.

    6-2
