Home Sweet Home Nats @ Tribe (Series Thread)

  • TBone14
Tigers beating the Red Sox. The lead will be 4.5 after tonight. During out hot streak...it never felt like we were out of a game. The last week...it never feels like we are in a game.

Signs of life for the Tribe in the 7th.

Almonte doubles (his 5th...5th!...hit since coming up. Hammy couldn't hide his disgust) and Lonnie gets a deflected pinch hit fluke RBI single.

Our speedster Davis GIDP to end the "threat".

5-3 now. Going to the 8th.

    Davis GIDP to end 7th.

1st and 3rd...nobody out in the 8th. Nap GIDP. Run home but rally squashed.

    5-4 Nats.

    Uribe's gotta go
  • Gardens35
    Shaw picks up the spare!
  • Laley23
Uribe has to have the worst defensive metrics at 3b in the league. He can't even make a throw to 1st w/o bouncing it.
  • vball10set
So frustrating to watch the error prone, bumbling Indians of old unfold before our eyes...they played so well before the break, and can't seem to do anything right since...unreal
  • HitsRus
Tribe making a run at it....now 6-5 in the 9th with Naquin on 2B and no outs.....
  • HitsRus
Naquin and Gimenez trade places ....game now tied and Gimenez on 2B with the game winning run.
  • vball10set
Damn this crow tastes good....TRIBE WINS!!!
  • GOONx19
  • BRF
    Very nice comeback win.
  • HitsRus
Now bases loaded and no outs....Nats make a pitching change and Kip coming to bat.
He fails but Lindor hits the game winner.
  • iclfan2
No idea how the hell they stole that one. I think it's safe to say Chisenhall and Naquin need to play everyday so that Ramirez can play 3rd. Let Almonte or Davis platoon wherever. Il take the win though, wow. Errors everywhere.

    Winning Pitcher.......................Brian Shaw!

    Go Tribe.

I'm not against the Tito philosophy of 2 days off in a row, and all that. But come on...we just had the ASG break and we have an off day Thursday. No need for Naquin and Chiz to BOTH be out tonight. On thing if it's Sale, or hard throwing lefty, but Gio is a soft tossing guy, who a lefty can handle.

Whatever, we got the W. What a huge win, since Red Sox aren't doing us any favors. Carrasco with a BIG chance at a statement game tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully this is a launching pad for the 2nd half, especially since so many of our remaining games are at home.

Does this great win actually lessen the Indians chances to win it all...or even in the playoffs? They exposed another contender and a washed up big time closer in Washington and Papelbon. Does this comeback maybe force Washington's hand to go hard after Andrew Miller, thus taking away another Cleveland addition?

Had we lost last night...that would have been 4 in a row...a season high losing streak. To me, it's incredible we haven't lost 4 in a row yet. It's pretty hard (actually, impossible) to be clicking and sharp for 6 straight months. I think we need to brace ourselves for another inevitable losing streak that will happen. They aren't great but they are also hard to avoid. To put it in perspective:

2015 Royals- 3 Four game losing streaks, including one in July and early September. World Series Champion.
2014 Giants- From 8/7-8/12 lost 5 straight. Prior to that...7/24-7/30 lost 6 straight. Also had another 4 gamer and another 6 gamer in June. World Series Champion.
2013 Red Sox- Lost 4 in a row in August. 7 in a row in late July. World Series Champion.

I could go on and on but I won't. The point is...our team is good. One losing streak isn't going to derail us. We need to brace ourselves for another potential one. I'm sure the folks on Chowder Chatter were losing their minds when the Red Sox were on a 7 game skid in July in 2013 but it happens. Pep talk (as much for me as anybody) over.

    What a win last night.

Game time! Scoreless through 1. Let's go Tribe!

Ugh, Kipnis drops a double play ball to end the inning, Carrasco walks the 9th hitter (and two other ones), and the leadoff batter gets a single to score 2. 2-0 Nats. Carrasco already at 50 pitches in the 2nd inning.
