Dethroning the Royalty...Tribe at KC (Series Thread)

  • Laley23
Tribe was swept last time we invaded KC. And they are still the Kings of the AL and MLB until eliminated. We get to send our 3 best starters out there to get it done. Would be an emphatic statement to take the series and send a message to the rest of the Central that Indians will have to be caught, not fall back to the pack.

    Kluber - Monday
    Salazar - Tuesday
    Carrasco - Wednesday

This is a huge series. We can really bury the royals for good here with a sweep

Would be big to win this series. The Royals are horrible on the road but still incredibly tough at home. 29-13...nearly 70% winning percentage at home.

After 6 pitches and 2 strikeouts, Lindor crushed a solo homer. 1-0 good guys

    Please just be cramps, Kluber.

    OH FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDGE !

Bullpen blowing games is so destructive to momentum of a team. Hopefully Tribe can pull this one out.

Chappy hit 105 mph on the gun tonight.

We need two bullpen arms immediately

Not sure about 2, but we need 1 for sure. Preferably a left handed power arm.

I know Tito is extremely loyal to guys, but they have to do something about Shaw. You can't have an 8th inning guy with a 4.5 era after 90 games.

Shaw has cost us at least 5 games. There is nothing wrong with his stuff....but everything wrong with his head. He's great if everything goes well, but just loses it amidst adversity. What makes Tomlin a great pitcher is the same stuff that makes Shaw lousy....and that is a mental game that maintains focus and limits damage when you make a mistake or get a couple of bad breaks. Shaw just imploded last night when the Royals got a couple of cheap hits. That was ugly.

You'll get a career minor leaguer fresh off of Tommy John surgery and you'll like it

agree with everything said about Shaw, and it's a MUST we get Chapman--we'll see what kind of mettle Chernoff, Dolan, et al has...this, IMO, will be the key to us getting to, and having any success in, the post season

I get the whole not parting with the future. For a team like Cleveland, trades make or break your team for up to a decade.

That said, this is the MOST well-rounded Indians team I can remember. They have a legit chance at the WS with this roster (ie, our minor leaguers arent needed). It would be a true shame to not go all in, and sacrifice a top prospect and play for a chance at a title later, while sacrificing the very real possibility of one this year.

I'm at the point now we absolutely have to get a guy like miller or chapman. I also think we need to try and get lucroy as well with gomes more than likely out for the year.

Yes. Yes. Yes. If we are only going to get chances to make a legit run at a World Series once a decade (I don't count 2013 as a true opportunity), then let's make them count.

Vegas Insider has us at 4/1 to win the AL (that's 2nd choice- Texas 7/2 is the current favorite) and we are the 5th choice to win the whole thing after the Cubs, Giants, Rangers and Nats.

We are more than a contender...we are one of the favorites. Add the pieces and let's make this thing happen.
