Second Half Begins: Tribe Invades the Twin Cities
-
Laley23Well, a memorable 1st half concluded with an AL ASG victory for Corey Kluber. Hopefully the run to the WS starts in Minny this weekend with a successful series versus the Twins...who have killed us, and ONLY us, this season.
We throw:
Carrasco
Bauer
Tomlin -
Commander of AwesomeI expect another sweep. Pitching sucks and our bats have gone silent.

iclfan2Indians with an unusual move today. Bring up an infielder (Gonzalez) and send TJ house down. Not sure how they are going to give this guy playing time, but maybe they are shopping someone. We now have no left ganders in the pen, which is peculiar since Tito loves matchups

Laley23Well, since Martinez was DFA, we didn't have a utility guy. This solves that. Plus, House was given a chance as the lefty specialist, but LH were I think 4/5 versus him, and the out was a decent running catch in the alley by Rajai.
-
iclfan2I get why House was optioned, just weird to not have a lefty. And I get the utility man role, just hope it doesn't cut into Jose's playing time. I really only watch the Indians and 0 ESPN, do other teams move around the lineup as much as we do?

Laley23So the rumors are out there...what would you give up for Chapman or Miller??
-
Crimson streakChapman I wouldn't give up much considering he is a free agent at the end of the year. Miller would be nice but that salary I dk about

Fuck it. I'd give up almost anything. Chapman may be the difference between WS appearance and WS victory. That is a special weapon coming out of the pen.Crimson streak;1803318 wrote:Chapman I wouldn't give up much considering he is a free agent at the end of the year. I definitely agree but I wouldn't part with zimmer or Frazier or anyone of that caliper for himLaley23;1803324 wrote:Fuck it. I'd give up almost anything. Chapman may be the difference between WS appearance and WS victory. That is a special weapon coming out of the pen.

Laley23I'd give up Zimmer easy. Sell high on that kid. He is plummeting in the scouts eyes and isn't even a top 50 candidate anymore, after entering season as our best. Frazier is up to 24 in Laws updated rankings. We have a pretty crowded OF for the time being, and they are similar players.
-
Laley23Not to mention, if we convert Yandy Diaz to OF?
We have Zimmer, Clevinger, Aiken and some other decent parts to work with. They are solid prospects, but if you can get a power LHP out of the pen...our biggest weakness, you gotta do it.
And nd that's before touching the 3 who made the MLB Futures game (best idea of future studs, IMO) Diaz, Meija and Frazier. If we gotta touch these guys, you think twice. -

Agreed. I'm not listening to talks about these two this year from anyone.Crimson streak;1803331 wrote:I definitely agree but I wouldn't part with zimmer or Frazier or anyone of that caliper for him

Zimmer will be fine. All his other numbers are solid other than batting average. He also just made a huge jump to AA. I wouldn't want to risk losing a 5 tool player for a half season rental of chapman. I know we can part with a few top guys but I wouldn't do it for a half season rental like chapman. Now for someone like goldschmidt, arenando I'd be all for it.Laley23;1803332 wrote:I'd give up Zimmer easy. Sell high on that kid. I just don't like his k rate, his Bb rate etc. not saying he won't turn out to be a very good player, but he has the peripherals that lead me to beleive it's worth the risk. Lindor struggled in the minors hitting, but his peripherals suggested he would hit eventually.Crimson streak;1803336 wrote:Zimmer will be fine. House was not only less than impressive, he sucked in his brief stint.Laley23;1803311 wrote:Well, since Martinez was DFA, we didn't have a utility guy. This solves that. Tribe will be in the market for a match up lefty .
Chapman is too good for that role, but would shore up the back end of the pen which has been a little shaky, if the Tribe wants to go in that direction. -
iclfan2Playing from behind 1-0. No one has looked sharp thus far. Napoli got thrown out stretching a single in the first.

iclfan2Well. There we go. 2-1 Indians. Lindor, Napoli, Ramirez, then FC by chisenhall.
