Call Em Macaroni- Yankee Doodles @ Tribe- Series Thread

I don't get it. To me...Almonte should have gone straight to AAA and he needed to kill it to come up. Not get auto playing time over guys who have been producing.

Kip gets picked off and Napoli strikes out to end the game.

Almonte ' s a loser on a team full of winners (including Gomes). He brings Bad Karma, and needs to be sent on down the road.
  • Gardens35
BTW, When Perez returns I think that Gomes should go to Akron and/or C-Bus to try to get some hitting confidence.

Well, to be fair, he did do a rehab, and he did kill it lol.

I was at the game and thought the correct call was made....then I came home and saw the replay, and I'm not so sure. At the very least I think Tito should have protested the game as the replay bears out that Headley would have been 2nd infielder to the ball.

    Rule 6.01(a)10 reads:

"if two or more fielders attempt to field a batted ball, and the runner comes in contact with one or more of them, the umpire shall determine which fielder is
entitled to the benefit of this rule, and shall not declare the runner out for coming in contact with a fielder other
than the one the umpire determines to be entitled to field such a ball."

Well, we knew the swoon was coming, but I was hoping it'd be after the AS break...just hope it's not a three month swoon.
  • iclfan2
Salazar not pitching in the all-star game due to elbow soreness... Still supposed to pitch his next start, but it's a little worrisome

This series reminds me of our play the last few seasons...errors, huge mental mistakes, and the inability to hit with risp--and I'm afraid it's going to carry over to the second half. Hope I'm wrong.
  • BRF
The Tribe did a great job of piling on wins in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, they remember the formula for another run like that in the second half.
  • Laley23
    I hate the Yankees.
  • cat_lover
Shoddy defense but they did keep grinding to try to get back in it. Get some rest over the all-star break and go get them the second half of the season.

    Go Tribe.

Good run, TBone, but you're meat...next...
  • BRF
TBone with probably the best run on this site's storied history.

    And speaking of meat.........Well done!

That was a fun run of baseball. I still would give Laley the nod for the 2013 run to the playoffs...maybe not quite as long but huge importance and 10 straight to end the season and make the playoffs.

damn, TBone, good memory--I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday!
  • Laley23
I think I went like 8 series in a row in 13. Didn't rack up the winning percentage like Tbone, with less sweeps, but still went for almost a month I beleive. Had a great run to end the year also (like tbone said, the 10 straight). That was a fun second half of baseball.
  • BRF
I was thinking, Laley, about your run at the end of 2013 when I typed that and will now give you the BRF tip of the hat that I should have done when I made that post.
  • HitsRus
Sounds like you need to start the second half, Laley!
