Being at the game (I know, not allowed to go to another game this year now), Tomlin was getting hit hard even in the first few innings. Some hard hit outs that I looked at my buddy I was with and even though we were up 2-0 at the time I said "this is not looking good".

He didn't have great stuff early, he just made outs. Many of those outs were drilled just either right at people or they were warning track deep.

Sucked going back to work for a couple hours after that depressing of a loss. (worked in morning, took an "Indians lunch" went back to work).

Oh well, won the series now onto the next one.

Had to win one lol. I'm just not sure if the Tigers can even win one series against this team as it looks like they're completely in their heads

Because advanced stats say he is the best pitcher in the AL.

I agree with 10vballset asking that because I'm old school. 8-8 at 3.79.

You guys are way too old school lol.

He is #1 in pitching indifferent to fielding, which basically says with average defenders around you, and everyone playing at a level field, he would be the best.

Also #1 in adjusted era, which takes into consideration bullshit like flyball lost in the sun which goes as an ER. Also into consideration a bunch of other stuff. You simply can't take traditional numbers and look at them in a box, we have technology to tell us stuff, we need to use it.

From Ken Rosenthal at FOX: "Kluber worthy ASG replacement for Estrada. Look past 8-8 record, even 3.79 ERA. Leads AL in fielding-independent pitching (expected ERA)."

"Kluber is currently 8-8 with a 3.79 ERA, striking out 114 batters in his 114.0 innings of work. On the season the Stetson University product has a 1.04 WHIP and has limited batters to a .219 batting average, both of which would be the best marks of his career."

    From Jordan Bastian:
    "
    Kluber's ranks among AL starters...
    3.1 fWAR: tied-1st
    2.96 FIP: 1st
    0.71 HR/9: 2nd
    1.04 WHIP: 4th
    .214 AVG: 4th
    114 IP: 4th
    114 K: 5th"

no he isn't, advanced stats or not
  • vball10set
I still don't think he deserves to be put on the AS team this year, but he sure pitched like an All Star tonight...dominant performance vs the Yankees
  • Laley23
He may not deserve it 100% based on years past. But the AL crop is a joke, hence why they have like 8 releivers going to the ASG and only 5 starters.
