this is sounding like a broken record...he's gotta' goiclfan2;1799604 wrote:And shaw blows it again. -
TBone14Shaw blew it. They should have been unearned runs but such is life. Ramirez can't make a routine play...allowing the tying run on base. Shaw gets the next two but then serves it up and boom....outta here. 3-2.
Plenty of blame to go around.
1. Perez shouldn't even have been hitting with a runner on to begin with in the 8th. Inning should have been over.
2. Shaw can't work around an error (incorrectly scored a hit IMO).
3. Offense can't generate a couple of extra runs. I just looked this up....it is hard to fathom only scoring 2 runs. Ready? They had runners on base in 8 of 9 innings and runners in scoring position 7 of 9 innings. Managed two runs and one was a solo homer. This should have been a 4-1 at min. type of game heading to the 8th and 9th to give our relievers some wiggle room. No bullpen locks everything down. There had to be at least 5 blown saves in MLB last night. -
HitsRusShaw has given up the lead several times already this season....I agree with Otero (reps).
Now I'm not going to throw Shaw away for the year,... the guy has great stuff.....but until he stops throwing the meatballs, he can pitch in less critical situations.
I'm not sure I'd say that Ramirez didn't make a routine play....it was a tough enough play that they gave Hosmer a hit....but it is a play that I would expect Ramirez to make (he came up a shortstop)....and NEEDS to make. -
HitsRusLooks like win or lose today, I've been "decrowned" from starting the next thread... get ready to step up.

I give Ramirez the benefit of the doubt. It's tough coming to the yard everyday not sure what position you will be playing. I would say that regular, everyday 3rd basemen would make that play 90 out of 100 times. Hosmer isn't necessarily slow but it wasn't Dyson or Cain running.HitsRus;1799629 wrote:Shaw has given up the lead several times already this season....I agree with Otero (reps).

HitsRus^^^agreed.

vball10setKluber hasn't been able to string two good games together in two seasons, and Gomes is just horrendous at the plate...not a good battery combo if you need a win.
-
Gardens35Kluber tossed beach balls in 1st inning, settled in now...........just got strikeout #800 for 16th on Tribe list. Down 2-0 through 3.
-
iclfan22-2 after a rajai Davis home run. Kansas City just scored due to another outfield error and then a wild pitch by kluber... Ugh

HitsRusThis game got out of control pretty fast

BRFKlubbed.

Go4alOngbOmBAs rough as that was, we are at least till tied for the AL Central, better than it was going at this point last season at 35-30.

TBone14Royals are something special in their own ballpark.
22-7 so far this year. 51-30 last year ~.630 winning %.
They are tough to beat there. Give them credit. I think getting swept there is a good thing in the long run. The Royals play with a playoff intensity at home and the crowd brings it...even in June. It takes a sharper focus to win big games...especially on the road and our guys need to learn that. You can't relax vs them and you can't give away at bats. Gotta grind every AB like its game 7.
We are fine. Learn from it.
Get back on track at home vs Chicago and Tampa. -
vball10setgetting swept is never a "good thing"--ever...GO TRIBE!

Obviously. I'm trying to look on the bright side. If they can take something from that series and learn from it and apply to future games to have more success...then maybe you can point to getting swept in KC as the wake up call they needed. Hey, we aren't the team to beat because we are in 1st place on June 15. The defending champs are in our division and they aren't going away. Better take those games seriously.vball10set;1799769 wrote:getting swept is never a "good thing"--ever...GO TRIBE! -
