Nobody stepped up, so I'll start the thread that will likely lead to another sweep.

...but we get to watch Tim Melville!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel as most of you would be excited about me pumping 63 mph fastballs as a crafty lefty than watching Tim Melville.

    I'll predict a 465 ft Grichik HR

Reds season: Remember when it was fun the first week?

This is where I hate them leaving Cody Reed in the minors. That guy tonight has no business attempting to eat innings.

Quit bitching just enjoy the season!

A pitcher like Melville is simply a team who isn't trying and just doesn't care about the outcome right now.

Stop being butthurt. You were being a debbie downer when we were 5-1. Now we are losing its okay to be pessimistic. Stop pretending like you don't know the difference.

Melville was 2-10 in double A in 2014 with and ERA over 5

He clearly holds the demeaning pictures.

I'm not butthurt at all. 5-1 was a facade. 3 wins over the Phillies. Everything I've said thus far has been true (no, I'm wrong about a lot of sports things, I'll admit). I'd like to know where you disagree other than just "stop bitching and enjoy the season."

Agree. That's why I said he probably wasn't in the top half-dozen of options who should've gotten these starts. My gripe is...if you're gonna pitch him...and then pitch him AGAIN, just flat come out and say "we're not necessarily trying to win these games, we're focusing on other things." I'd be fine with that. They have reasons why they aren't rushing DeSclafani, pitching Reed or moving Straily into the rotation, I get that. Just don't give us the company line that "Melville is the best option."

You were being a bitch when we were 5-1 and just took 2/3 from the Pirates lol it was annoying. Do you not comprehend?
  • Azubuike24
I comprehend. My bitching stemmed from the fact that things we saw in that 5-1 run, were concerning moving forward. One of them was Melville's start. We saw the result of that last night.

Phillips with another mishandle, this one an error. I'm in the beginning stages of worrying this is becoming mental. He's olay'd mashed shot to the side in the past but these aren't hit that hard and are balls he never even bobbles. Cozart always made great plays and they'd credit Phillips for being beside him practicing.....maybe Phillips has been watching Suarez lol

    Leading!

5-1 home stand matched by a 1-5 road trip.

How long before Bruce gets moved? He's playing pretty well.

Disco will be back soon...Reed will eventually get the call I hope. Lamb will be back. Homer will return sometime this season....the stockpile of starting pitchers needs to have a few give a look to the bullpen. Bullpen is just awful.

    Bailey
    Iglesias
    Finnegan
    Disco
    Reed
    Lamb

All the others I'm not sure will be much more than a borderline #4 starter at best and would like to see some of these other guys try the bullpen. If the get rid of Bruce the bullpen must be addressed.
  • Ironman92
I'd guess the Reds have one of the toughest opening 12 games as well. Their opponents are 29-21. Even the Phillies are 6-4 since the Reds swept them.
  • Azubuike24
The Reds offense is average, but inconsistent. The starting pitching is promising, but young, and they are going to constantly find themselves in tight games or even ahead in games. Then the bullpen comes into place...and the pen has directly lost 3 games already.
