Later in the game Gabriel ensured the hat trick by dropping his third pass of the evening. Even Cueball, a well known Johnny hater said that Manziel had really high marks through 3 quarters. With any kind of help from the receivers, Johnny would have had a 125 qb rating through 3 quarters.

But go ahead...lead the Johnny basher brigade. Better get used to it because Manziel will be the starter here for the next 10 years.

lol at Johnny had a good game if we pretend that he did. The big concerns on him coming out of college were decision making, passing in the pocket, arm strength, and accuracy. Last night he showed that he still has big problems with all of these. The only time that he makes plays in on broken plays. While that has the potential to make some exciting, highlight plays, it doesn't win at the pro level.

It's a pity that next time Manziel starts Footwedge will have to dig up another one of Manziel's great college games. Because he still doesn't have a great pro game to recall.

What's a pity are all the ass clowns that don't see that the Browns finally have a stud quarterback... Manziel has played light years better than both Bridgewater and Carr in their 4th career start.

Hid decision making...as noted by Pettine was graded as excellent through the first 3 quarters. He has proven time and time again that he can make all the throws FROM THE POCKET. Apparently your football challenged miniscule IQ forget about his 50 yard strike to Benjamin in the Jets game, his 60 yard strike to Benjamin on the second play from scrimmage in the Titan game..both from the pocket. And to even hint that he has accuracy and arm strength problems makes one wonder if you've ever even watched a Mnaziel game before. Even the most ardent Johnny bashers have conceded that his arm strength and accuracy ARE NOT a problem. But please do carry on.

It was shown on several replays during the game that he consistently did not throw to open receivers. As far as accuracy, you aren't going to win many games completing 40% of the passes. Even many of the completions were inaccurate passes that forced the receivers to stop running and give up bigger plays.

I thought he had some great passes, and in truth, there were some catchable balls that were dropped. Great quarterbacks, however, have a way of overcoming these things, and leading their team to victory. In that case, JFF was not even close. That said, I'm not sure that there are very many NFL QBs that did that very often their rookie season, especially when you don't have many weapons to work with, and a defense that isn't getting you a short field. Any decision on JFF based on the small sample we've seen is necessarily flawed and premature.

I want to see more.

Future HOFer Ben Roethlesberger put up a whopping 10 points against that same Cincinnati defense...and that was at home the previous week. He also threw 3 picks. Manziel had how many turnovers?

Rizzo went postal clamoring for Johnny to be cut immediately. Crying about a 10 point production. The collection of Cleveland media bozos are a lot worse than the Browns current roster.

The fact is...the Browns finally have a solution at quarterback...and he's gonna get his ass run out of town. When that happens, I will do the unthinkable and turn in my Browns fandom card and root for the other Ohio football team. Who dey?

Kudos to Dennis Maniloff of the PD, a renowned Johnny basher, graded his performance at B-. The same Maniloff that has repeatedly given McCown D's after the losses. His article spoke of Manziel playing in only his 4th start, a hostile environment, short week, against a red hot, undefeated team..a recipe for absolute disaster. Yet, according to Maniloff he played really well in the first half.

You mean the same Roethlisberger who had missed the previous four or so games, was obviously not at 100% on his injured leg and who, throughout his career, has put up very mediocre numbers in his first game back after missing any amount of time due to injury?

I mean, if you would just stick to the mantra that as a first-round pick from last year, Manziel is the best choice for Cleveland at QB simply because there's no point in wasting an already lost season playing an old journeyman with no long-term future, so you need to see what you have with the young guy, no one would have a reasonable argument against you. But that's not good enough, so you always add in random other stuff that either only tells one half of a story or is just stupid as fuck. And then everyone laughs at you. Just stick to the basics. Your math, logic and reasoning abilities aren't good enough to make complex arguments.

This, in a nutshell. If he'd just stick to the "we need to see what we have in the 1st round pick" versus "he's the second coming of Fran Tarkenton", "he found Jimmy Hoffa while curing cancer on the same day" bullshit slobbering on JFF, people wouldn't give him nearly the shit.

It's unfair to pull the plug on JFF after 4 starts while, in the same breath, it's unfair to crown him for 2 or 3 nice passes and what he's done in COLLEGE (as FW does).
