Doubling down on the homerness by mentioning something irrelevant from 3 years ago. Classic Classy.

    1. Tom Brady
    2. Tom Brady
    3. Tom Brady
    4. Tom Brady
    5. some other guy

I am biased to Brown and actually why I started this thread. He is unbelievable and IMO getting better and better. I don't know that he gets enough credit around the league but you guys on here seem to agree.

Also....what is it that separates Rodgers from Brady for most all of you?

Since the beginning of 2011 Rodgers has 6 more TDs, 15 fewer INT, a significantly better completion percentage (67.2 vs 63.5), and significantly higher yards per attempt (8.49 to 7.56). He's also more mobile.

lol this all day. I'd even take Dez over Johnson. He was the #1 a few year ago, but now? No fucking way.

But also one fewer super bowl with a lot better receivers.

I'm taking Brady over Rodgers right now. Probably just for this year, Brady is getting up there in age no way he can continue this for more than another season or two.

You can take the difference in receivers, I'm taking the difference in coaches. It's not close; pretty much every expect thinks Rodgers is the best QB in the league. Belicheck is way too smart of a coach schematically to not get a chunk of credit for their offensive success.

Calvin Johnson in the wildcat or Cam Newton now? I gotta say Calvin. Have you see how jacked he was in 2012?

    You dumb man you dumb

    get Rodgers for stats
    get Brady for championships
  • Ironman92
I don't know how much credit Belichick can get for Brady being a master at checking down to the 3rd receiver with pressure coming.

Brady with Gronkowski on the field almost isn't fair.

I look for Brady to be a pissed off little bitch all season and tear apart the league....if Gronk stays healthy I don't think there will be a question of who's #1.

I think having better receivers/weapons is more important than coaching. Andy Dalton with A.J. Green and Eifort is likely far better than Dalton without those guys but with Belichick.

No it's not. Look at Matt Cassel's year when Brady went down. Belicheck is the exception to the rule that coaches don't matter that much. He will make it work with whatever he has. Brady helps a lot, don't get me wrong. But Rodgers and Belicheck would be even better than Brady and Belicheck, imo, so that's what I'm taking Rodgers.

He's got better pocket presence now, he's more mobile, he has more arm talent, and he's more accurate.

Without Brady, Belichick is 51-65. But with Brady, 136-39 in the regular season.

    Calvin Johnson
    Julio Jones
    A.J. Green

Probably the 3 most gifted WR's in-terms of athleticism, size and speed in the NFL. All 3 of them have been injured numerous times. None of these guys have played a full season since 2012.

It might be luck for Brown, but give me the guy who produces and who is always playing.
Yup, Brown is gonna be MVP this season. He's unreal.

I've been a cleveland fan for 30 yrs, I've worried about jinxes for majority of that and it never worked in my favor. Thus I don't believe in jinxes, reverse jinxes, etc... That is my honest prediction.

Fair enough...I do a bit so I have to get that one.

Would be nice, but a WR has never won the AP MVP.
  • Ironman92
Matt Cassel was 10-5 for Belichick in 2008 with Randy Moss and in 2010 he was 10-5 with Dwayne Bowe as his top guy.

Cassel's numbers are at least as good in 2010 for the Chiefs with Todd Haley at the helm. Belichick get all the credit for teaching him.....because if so Cassel sucked in 2009 the year in between his 2 very good seasons of his career.

He also returns punts, and goes over the middle. He has the catches, the YAC, punt game, to make the case. I would have given the MVP last season to Watt, so take my prediction with a grain of salt.

I was just curious and looked it up, was surprised to see a wideout never win it.

    Also this...

    1982 - Mark Moseley, K - Washington (Associated Press)

    What the fuck.

Maybe should have been one of the Hogs that year

Just posting to LOL at Classy still thinking Calvin is the top wideout. 4th best...AT BEST.

    Brown
Jones (I'd take Julio at 1 if he could stay heathy)
    Dez

...and I'm not sure AJ Green and D. Thomas aren't also better. Thomas for sure #s wise...but Peyton as QB vs Stafford so hard to judge.

Bill Barnwell had a pretty interesting article about this earlier this summer. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-year-the-nfl-went-insane-and-gave-a-kicker-the-mvp-award/

As for Classy LOL. Calvin isn't even in my top 5 for WRs and at best you could argue him to be 4th. Brown, Julio, and Dez are easily top 3.
