Royals @ Indians...crucial 3 game series.

  • HitsRus
The Tribe is in danger of free fall as the League leading Royals come to town for a three game series. The reeling Indians have been set up for a knockout punch after being swept by lowly Chicago and the season is rapidly slipping away.

Cody Anderson(2-1, 1.91) has the duty to stop the slide tonite....he will be opposed by Voloquez (9-5, 3.18).

    Free fall commenced.

    Bottom of the 3rd...............SMH.

Depressing factoid of the night... the Indians haven't been at .500 since April 10th. Milwaukee is the only team in baseball that's been below for longer (all season).

    They have officially quit.

This entire organization is a joke if there isn't some accountability somewhere for the failure this season has been.

Shaponetti needs to go, and a fresh voice needs to be brought in. They have run their course, and have had years on end to do something about the offense and it just never happens.

Tito doesn't get a total free pass, but I stand by that if we had someone else managing this team the past 3 years the record would be far far worse than it has been. He is the least of this teams problems.

There just is not enough talent to win right now, and there hasn't been for a while.

    One crucial game down.

    Two to go.
  • IggyPride00
They had better be working the phone right now to get anything they can for these guys if anyone is even remotely interested.

    Note to laley.....Lindor hit a three run bomb!...it didn't make a difference. ;)
    Free fall commenced.
Losing streak reaches 5...4 of those games were blowouts. :(

Trevor Bauer takes the hill tonight in an attempt to stop the slide.

In a report today filed in the Beacon Journal Jason Kipnis called out his fellow players and said that they needed to hold each other "accountable". Kipnis has said that he is frustrated that the team is not doing the little things team needs to do to win. He stated that he hates it when managers and coaches are used as scapegoats for struggling teams, giving Francona a pass. "It's a reflection on me,Brantley, Kluber, Yan and some of the other guys who are leading this team.Hey, you got more people to worry about than yourself".

19-31 in the friendly confines of Progressive Field.

Baffling inability to win at home. Even the Phillies, who are the worst team in baseball by a good margin (only team under .400), are 23-26 at home.

Ok....this year's squad is as bad as any of those clunker teams from the 70's and 80's.

Gave away Murphy for a AA shortstop....maybe trade out Moss, Santana, Bourne, Raburn and the like for a Single A short season drop-out or two.

    Perez is a clown.

    Jerry Sands now!

Gave away Murphy for a AA shortstop
He'll fit right in. Absolutely no pop in his bat and he's a marginal hitter.

    It's the Shaponetti special.

Worst part about this abomination of a season is that the playoffs were there for the taking. Most of the league outside a few teams is hovering around .500ish.

Minnesota hitting a shit streak at the same time we did is about the only thing that is keeping us from being 10 games out of the WC right now.

This pitching staff is good enough for the playoffs, and they were let down by Shaponetti who knew last year these guys couldn't hit and sat on their hands all winter anyway.

    A middle infielder, great.........

Murphy is a rent a player....you're not gonna get much for him. Till this pont, the Tribe has managed to limit the losing streaks , and that has kept them in contention for a wild card berth. This latest plunge has ended hopes. The inability to generate runs is mind boggling. The team had 8 hits ....7 of them in the first 5 innings along with 6 STOLEN BASES! ...and only scored 1 run....on an ERROR!
    SMH.

    That double play wow
  • Footwedge
Indians get a 243 hitting double AA shortstop for their 3rd best hitter. Apparently the brass doesn't like what they see in Lindor. LOL. Don't care that Murphy is a rental, this was a horrible deal by management. Need a long shot prospect? How about a centerfielder, right fielder, third baseman or third baseman?

This team has a million holes to fill.

This team needs completely blown up and a fresh start. In the early nineties 100 plus losses were OK with me because they had Joey Bell, Thome and Manny tearing it up on the farm. Then they traded their best player for prospects Baerga and Sandy. Then it was Eddie Tombansie for Kenny and Felix Fermin for Omar(the biggest heist in the history of baseball).

Our boss dangled an incentive "carrot" in front of the team that if we hit certain numbers by the this morning, we all got to go down to today's game. We didn't hit the numbers. Apparently, nobody wanted to go see that shit show very badly.
  • BR1986FB
It looks like the Tribe decided to give Kluber more run support today than in all of his previous outings, combined, in todays 12-1 victory...
  • BRF
    Kluber wins!

    Tribe scores 12!

4 Homers: Urshela, Lindor, Brantley, Gomes

So they score 12 yesterday, making the homestead offense look better statistically.

As a Tribe fan...I hate this Royals team.

As a baseball fan...I love this Royals team. They are so good. They play hard and relaxed. They look like they are having so much fun (I guess 61-39 helps make it fun). It's such a stark contrast to our guys who look like they are pressing in every situation.

Then there is this nonsense....which is just awesome. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/7/29/9067629/kansas-city-royals-trap-queen-fetty-wap-confusing-reporters-1738

Personally, I'm about 1738 whether or not I make it to another Tribe game this year.

Didn't read your link but 92.3 had Jeff Passan on yesterday and he said a major different between todays Tribe and todays Royals is that the Royals have hit on their first round draft picks while the Tribe has not. If you're going to penny pinch (Dolans), you sure as Hell better have a front office that drafts well (which the Tribe does NOT).

Heard Antonetti, in his press conference, telling the audience that they were going to be "sellers" had dark circles under his eyes and looked about as excited as someone going to the dentist. GOOD ! I hope the Dolan's get wise and ditch these clowns. The only "talent" the front office has is trading the Tribe's proven big league players for a prospect that another team has developed. Can't draft on their own one lick.
