Tribe at Rays

MulvaI will never miss Derek Shelton being our hitting coach.
Chance for first road sweep of the year, I believe. -
TBone14So close. What a great start for CC. Kluber's turn tomorrow.
-
BRFGreat win, though.

Laley23Man, Carrasco was awesome. I was all poised, with an 0-2 count and 2 outs in the 9th, to tell my grand-kids I listened to Tom Hamilton call Carlos Carrasco's no-hitter from the first pitch to the last from Bora Bora. Damn.
Still, nice to see some offense to go along with this picthing! -
TBone14This squad looks like a different bunch the last 3 games since Tito called that meeting. Hopefully it is here to stay and not another apparition.
I will say this...look at how easy our starters can make it look when they get runs early and can pitch with a lead. -
FootwedgeWhat a shame. Hindsight is 20-20, but I thought his 0-2 pitch was way too fat. His change up and curve were unhittable. Why not try to make him chase? In this disastrous season, a no-no would have picked the team up.
Going to Pittsburgh to watch the game on Saturday...the first ball game I've seen. -

That seems about right.Footwedge;1738424 wrote:the first ball game I've seen. -
BR1986FBIf they can even get a fraction of this offense (consistently) to go with the pitching, they will be dangerous.

HitsRus
Well, he was at 128 pitches. I thought he was outta gas when he hit that batter. I couldn't beleive he was able to get a strike out for out #2.Footwedge;1738424 wrote:What a shame. HitsRusThere will be no run at a no hitter or perfect game today by Kluber....but the Tribe does lead the Rays 4-2 in the 5th.

BR1986FBWinner, winner chicken dinner ! Aviles 10th inning HR wins it, 5-4. And a four game sweep of the Rays!

Cannot find a video to it but I have always been an advocate that ANY pitch in ANY situation can be the right pitch if located properly.Footwedge;1738424 wrote:What a shame. As we know...even the best placed pitch can result in a hit, and even a cockshot pitch can be swung on and missed. That is the great, and terrible, thing about baseball!
To get that close...man that has to suck!
I recall as a kid when Mario Soto lost his no hit bid, AND a shutout, with 2 outs in the 9th on a HR. I want to say it even hit the foul pole but I am not sure -
BRFWTF! Negative psych worked!

HitsRusBaltimore must be loving us. They enter last weekend battling the Rays for the top spot in the East. We lay down for them, then turn around and sweep the Rays....on top of that, they took our football team, too!

BRFAnd I will happily start the next thread.
