I said about 10 games ago when Byrd was hitting about .150 that he was swinging better and might be pushing .250 in a couple of weeks

Really swinging a good bat right now.

Why the fuck is Jason Marquis in the rotation of a team who wants to contend? One of the more baffling baseball decisions...

Isn't he coming off a good outing?

    We needed a starter

The bigger question is how do we have zero runs when Hamilton was on third with 0 outs?

Iglesias. He got a chance for 1 start, and then boom. Lorenzen and Iglesias are young and inexperienced, but both have better stuff than Marquis. Why they don't go with both in the rotation, especially considering you're going to be without Cueto, likely Leake and Bailey probably until the AS Break 2016. You can't start next year with a rotation of all inexperienced rookies...

Marquis has had 1 good start out of 6...he's awful and there's zero potential.

    First and third, none out.

Votto K'ed. Frazier popped up to 2nd and Byrd got doubled off (he was stealing on the pitch and slid).

Rodon, at this rate, will be gone by the 5th, and the Sox will have to go heavy bullpen again. Unfortunately, the Reds can't cash in. 6 base runners through 3...nothing.

In his last 14 games (counting today)....Byrd is hitting .356 with .436 OB% and Slugging .813

It was a rhetorical question. I'm at the game and know how shitty we are. lol

An amazing throw from Alexei on the play that the Reds challenged on the phantom tag of BP that preceded the first career triple of Mesoraco to tie the game.

After great fortune and defensive execution, Lorenzen and the Reds get out of bases loaded and no out with no damage in the 4th, Cozart brings back memories of Norris Hopper and his beautiful push bunts to the 2nd baseman.
  • mhs95_06
When Billy comes up with a runner on 1st and none out and the Reds are not down by more than a run, he needs to bunt 90% of the time, and not do what he did before Cozart got thrown out stealing.
  • mhs95_06
That pitch Bruce grounded into a DP to end the 6th is the one he should go to LF on, instead of doing it last night with a runner on 2nd and none out.
  • mhs95_06
A good thought for BP to have, but a misguided decision he made to let that pop-up by Shuck fall and take the C off the bases and put the CF on. I wonder if Price brings in Cingrani if its 2 out and still the C on 1st?
  • mhs95_06
Pathetic job by Cingrani walking the first 2 batters in the 7th, setting them up to take the lead without any hits or errors in the half inning, and they did on a fly that moved both runners up and a SF.

    Cozart!
  • mhs95_06
Lead-off walk in the 8th and the Sox get the run in with the aid of a WP and a conservative call by Pena to tell BP to throw it to first and not try to cut down the run at the plate with the infield in, except for Frazier who was holding the runner on. BP had made a great stop and it looked like he had a good shot on the play at home.

Sox get the lead-off runner on 7 of the 8 innings so far. Just 2 of the 3 runs came in innings they got the lead-off man on, and in both they got on by walk, one of those 2 there were 2 walks to start.
  • mhs95_06
Reds get the game tied in the 9th and have Cozart, after he knocks in 2, courtesy of the terrible, passed ball prone Sox catchers, on 2nd with the lead run and no out and he dies there.
  • SportsAndLady
    Ugh
  • mhs95_06
Do not bring Chapman in unless it is a save situation. Price had to start him warming when Cozart was on 2nd with none out, but the putrid Reds situational hitting did not get the run in, and Price was caught with a warm Chapman and no lead!
  • Ironman92
Fuck you Hamilton. Bullshit that with Cozart on 2nd and no outs in a tie game that you can't bunt or even make contact to get him to 3rd....atrocious. Fucking unacceptable.

Did he even try? Hamilton should be able to lay one down in his sleep.
