Reds vs I have no idea. Game two
-
Azubuike24Fat Broxton now in for the Brew Crew.

Ironman92Can't believe the number of cream puffs that have been tossed up there tonight.
I'd move Cozart up in the order and Boesch/Negron should be getting much of Marlon's time -
Azubuike24Mesoraco is good enough to pinch hit and he ran the bases fine, yet he can't catch. How long can your best right-handed bat be a pinch-hitter only? His hip impingement isn't going to get a ton better and he certainly can't catch with it.
He should be taking Byrd's at-bats in LF. -

I'm sure he's perfectly healthy buike, and Price is just sitting him intentionally to torture reds fans c Trent Rosecrans.Azubuike24;1723172 wrote:Mesoraco is good enough to pinch hit and he ran the bases fine, yet he can't catch. mhs95_06Reds have not scored exactly 4 runs in any game this year. When they score 3 or more, they are 7-2 when they score 3 or more, and 0-5 when they score 2 or less. The 2 killers were the back to back 6-5 and 7-5 games they lost after blowing 2 run leads in the 8th after going into the opponents 8th leading by two. Would be 9-5 without those two disheartening loses.
Looks like the NL Central, who some say is the best division, has at least 3 of the worst bullpens in MLB with these two and Pitt with what happened to them tonight. -
friendfromlowryHey maybe Price's rant really fired them up? Nah, just Brewers.

It was great to see him in there. Even more, he said after the game he felt great on the base path. We'll see what happens though, but Brayan Pena can't keep being the starter...SportsAndLady;1723175 wrote:I'm sure he's perfectly healthy buike, and Price is just sitting him intentionally to torture reds fans c Trent Rosecrans. -

Pena has been more than serviceable.Azubuike24;1723193 wrote:It was great to see him in there. Even more, he said after the game he felt great on the base path. We'll see what happens though, but Brayan Pena can't keep being the starter... -

Obviously we all want meso back, buike.Azubuike24;1723193 wrote:It was great to see him in there. Even more, he said after the game he felt great on the base path. We'll see what happens though, but Brayan Pena can't keep being the starter...
My point is you don't know how healthy he is. If he's not 100% healthy, he SHOULDNT be playing. Bruce last year came back not 100% and he was horrible.
And come on, a post game comment from meso? What else is he going to say? "I'm only 90% guys, I shouldn't be playing right now."? -
wildcats20And also, running the bases on a bad hip is not even close to comparable to catching a full game.
-
Azubuike24That was my point. They have basically said he can't catch. However, he's been used as a pinch hitter three times since the last game he caught. That tells me he's good enough to hit and run, but not catch.
My original question...how long can you continue to start a backup at C (Pena is a backup, his numbers WILL reflect it if he had to play 100 games) and have a fringe AAAA backup in Barnhart. Furthermore, you have a guy who can't play in the field, but is potentially your most potent right-handed hitter only pinch-hitting? Even furthermore, your LF production is the worst in the NL...and no upside to get better.
At worst, regardless of the truth about Mesoraco, it's a shitty use and management of your 25-man roster. -
thavoiceHe ran pretty well. Now...well enough to get up and out of a crouch 120-150 times? Best have him get some AB's right now against an awful brewers team and hope he can resume his duties later.
For a second I thought they were going to blow it. If they did..........I think everyone in reds country would have obliterated PRice's "record" for F bombs in one conversation!
