Reds vs Pirates...Game 2

  • sherm03
Reds need to win this in the bottom of the 10th here because I don't think Hoover can put together 2 good innings in a row.
  • Terry_Tate
I'm trying to think of how many good outings it would take for me to trust Hoover again, and there's just no way it's under 100.

He gets the job done tonight.

Too bad BP came up trying to knock the first pitch out of the area code.

    VOTTO!!!!!!
  • Terry_Tate
Joseph Votto with a couple big hits tonight. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come! Tomorrow's game will be a shit show after this late one and going through the bullpens.

Less than 11 hrs after the walk-off, the bid for the sweep begins, barring more rain!

    162-0 could really happen guys.
  • Midstate01
Nice to see votto pulling the ball!
  • Rotinaj
I was checking out the BS since I missed most of the game and when looking at the #P stat everyone was in the 20s with Votto at 30. I then got to BP.....8.... I lold.

Need a game 3 thread started in less than 2 hours...otherwise, the streak may be over.

Pretty sure Ironman would have to be in a coma to miss something like this. Hopefully he pulls through.

yeah. I turned it off when I saw him in the game.
In his defense, and I hated him last year, he had a very good spring. Gaveup 3 ER in back to back games early in ST, but had a great WHIP and everything else the rest of the time. He always had good stuff and HOPEFULLY he finds it.
I am not ready to shitcan him for his misgivings last year. He shoulda been sent down early to get fixed. If he starts to falter again...I will be all over his case but this is a new year.

Still no game 3 thread?! Killing me, smalls.

DatDudeGIDP shows back up today to kill some momentum and end the inning.

I was just assumning it was in a rain delay..will have to tune in
  • Azubuike24
We're fucked. No thread = loss.

Desclafini looks decent thus far. Can't touch Burnett thus far.
  • sherm03
Tarp on the field now. Who knows how long this will last.
  • mhs95_06
DeSclafani with a very good 4th, the 2nd time thru the order, and the 1st batter, Polanco, gets a single and steals 2nd. Then Cutch pops up, Walker Ks, and Marte pops up. Then the rain delay comes. Reds have the advantage with their starter thru 4 and the Pirates starter has gone just 3.

Damn took a half day today to watch this game at a bar. Fucking rain delay. Gonna be hammered by the time it starts back up. How long do you cinci guys think that'll be?

They were saying 30 minutes. But it's going to be off and on all game long. So strap in for the ride...this one could take awhile.
  • SportsAndLady
Take a half day to watch it and there's rain. Unbelievable
  • sherm03
I'd be surprised if they start the 5th with the rain coming down like it is.
  • sherm03
    Or I am completely wrong.

Still no score going into the 5th. I get the feeling that whoever scores first will win.

Umps waiting for that first run to make it an official game!

Hope this is not the trend like last year...reds had nearly 24 hours in delays last year at home, like 8 on the road I think it said.
  • sherm03
Fuck! Cozart costs the Reds a run and the tie game there. Fuck!

Reds offense should take note what pressure hustle can put on the defense!
