Pittsburgh Steelers offseason

BR1986FBI don't know how reputable that site is so, as I said, take it fwiw. The guy stating it's a "done deal" is formerly from Pittsburgh and it could be wishful thinking on his part if he's a Raiders fan or a Steelers fan that dislikes Roethlisberger.
-
NonI don't want Clausen, though.
I'd rather have Tebow.
Not at No. 8, of course, but if they could make another move.
Not sure what happens at No. 8. -
NonI do think Whisenhunt wants Roethlisberger in Arizona.
He's never been big on Leinart and why not take Ben who he knows well.
Problem is Arizona only has the No. 26 pick.
Maybe if they throw in Early Doucet. -
BR1986FBArizona did supposedly talk to Pittsburgh about him. How serious the talks were?
-
NonArizona's interest is probably serious but they don't have enough to give up to make the Steelers serious.
-
BR1986FBOh, I'm sure the Cardinals were serious. I meant I doubt the talks got serious because AZ probably didn't have the ammo to get it done. Whisenhunt would probably be wetting himself at the prospect of getting Ben.
-
thavoiceIf this was a done deal someone more significant than that joker woulda scoooped it.
-
sleeperStupid deal for Oakland, but it is Al Davis.
-
BR1986FBI wouldn't hold my breath that it is in fact a deal.
-
thavoiceIF ben goes anywhere i hope it is oakland cause I think he cannot be successful out there...
-
BR1986FBLike I said on one of the other threads, I had heard the Rooney's might deal him to Oakland as "punishment." Whether it happens or not who knows.
Bleacher Report has also picked up on this story(?) -
wes_mantoothAnything from Schefter or the other espn tweeters?

John Clayton says "extremely unlikely" that a trade will occur -
HereticIf that is a remotely true story, that'd be a pretty good deal for Pittsburgh. Specifically considering that on this thread we went from Post #361 (by BR, stating the Raiders scoffed at Ben for the #8 straight up and wanted Pitt to throw in the #18, as well) to the Steelers potentially trading Ben and the #18 for the #8 and one of the top DBs in the NFL.
-
NonNot much suspense.
With Haden and Thomas off the board, and Iupati going one pick ahead to San Francisco, the Steelers end up with the player many expected.
Maurkice Pouncey, C/G, Florida
Intelligent. Athletic. Versatile. And certainly experienced. He's been on winning programs at Lakeland High School and Florida.
-
killdeerby the way...has anyone else noted the John Clayton looks like a progeria-inflected semblance of an NFL insider that decided that..."No; i am not a slave to the whims of the NFL"...when in fact I am a complete muscle-jellied NFL "insider"
-
killer_ewokAgain, maybe Whiz pulled a McNabb if he was serious because he and Ben did not get along. The one Steeler who didn't go over to Whiz and greet him before Super Bowl XLIII.....Ben Roethlisberger.
Also, not sure how realistic that Oakland-Pittsburgh deal ever was. Didn't Asomugha just get a huge signing bonus not that long ago? Al Davis isn't that stupid. Why hand a guy that much cash as a signing bonus and then trade him away? -
rock_knutneThe Steelers were never shopping Ben:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/382761-breaking-news-steelers-not-trading-ben-roethlisberger
They would listen to a possible deal if it met their requirements.
These Ben trade rumors is alot of wishful thinking by rival fans. -
rock_knutneThe Steelers have got to find a way to get Golden Tate tonight. This kid is smart, fast, tough and he's from ND.

BR1986FB
Not really. The Browns slapped the crap out of him the last meeting and will do it again. Besides, at the rate he's going, he's likely to drink (alcohol issues) or eat himself out of the league.rock_knutne wrote: These Ben trade rumors is alot of wishful thinking by rival fans. -

I am not disputing your statement, I am just asking for some details. What info do you have that indicates that Roethlisberger has a drinking problem. I know alcohol played a role in the Georgia debacle, but I am not aware of any other alcohol related issues.he's likely to drink (alcohol issues) or eat himself out of the league.
Can you add some details? -
BR1986FB
Gee...besides the Georgia incident, his "Drink like a Champion" moments and the fact he's gotten fatter & fatter (what looks like drinkers weight), it's not hard to put two and two together that he's not shy about the partying. It looks like he never lost that college frat boy mentality. Even one of your own fans who posts on this site believes he has a drinking issue.Prescott wrote:

That dropped him to 10-1 all-time against the Browns. I think he's had the better of it, pal.BR1986FB wrote:

Without a doubt but that doesn't mean that will be the case going forward, chum.Non wrote:
