Which QB is the worst draft pick?
-
Manhattan BuckeyeRussell, or Leaf?
Watching the BAl-OAK game, I really think Russell may be worse than Leaf. -
RotinajI'm gonna say Russell mainly because of how big of a contract he got.
-
wes_mantoothI voted for Russell, but those are two real stinkers listed.
-
xnds1fanI say Leaf because he was such a head case.
-
mucalum49Listening to JaMarcus Russell I think this may factor into why he inhales...
-
ZombieKillershouldn't Tim Couch be added to this list?
-
september63Ill say Leaf. Russell is still in the league yet. Maybe he turns this around at some point, although I doubt it.
-
mucalum49Couch didn't have a fair shake IMO... Sure I was one to criticize at the time but looking back he had fairly decent numbers for the guys around him. Especially our offensive line. The O-Line really was bad from about 99-06.
11,131 yards and 60% completion rate. 64 TD's and 67 INT's on absolutely pathetic teams is respectable. I know 2002 the Browns made the playoffs but every other year the team was sorry. Wonder how his career may have panned out if he didn't play for our expansion team -
darbypitcher22they both suck.
For every great QB pick there's been in draft history there's normally a turrrible one to go along with it -
DaBrowns41Leaf was the most disappointing because he actually was very talented.
J-Russ was hyped up after a great bowl game performance and never even deserved to be a top pick. -
BuckeyeBlueI had to vote for Leaf. There were more than a few people who thought he should go ahead of Peyton Manning in the draft. He had tremendous potential, and just never panned out. Russell didn't have nearly the hype coming out of college that Leaf had (at least I don't remember as much).
That said, Russell could still turn his career around (I'm not holding my breath). Stranger things have happened. -
Al CaponeHopefully the nfl adopts a rookie salary cap, and names it after Russell. The salary he got will hurt the Raiders for years to come.

Not really. They will be cutting him this offseason, to save on the money. (If they have any common sense)Al Capone wrote: Hopefully the nfl adopts a rookie salary cap, and names it after Russell. The salary he got will hurt the Raiders for years to come.
Next year there will be no cap, thus no cap penalties so you'll see high priced players who aren't performing (DA, Russell) be cut, because the team won't be hurt in the cap. -
NNNLeaf's scouting report was "Exceptionally talented in every aspect of the game, and one can only hope that he develops the maturity and work ethic to develop it."
Russell's scouting report was "Fifth-round talent at most, but he can throw the ball 84 yards. This means that some peckerhead like Al Davis, who is believed to have recently attempted to bring Daryle Lamonica or John Hadl out of retirement, will become enamored with him and overlook the fact that he was subpar his entire career at LSU and had one big game that consisted of torching a Notre Dame secondary that would have trouble holding a middle school quarterback to under 250 yards". -
