Who do the St Louis Rams take with the #1 pick?

  • King Curtis
Do they take Suh or a QB?
  • wes_mantooth
I think Suh is the only true "can't miss" in this draft.

With that being said, they don't always draft the best player, they draft the guy that is the most signable. I cannot wait for the rookie salary cap.

it just occured to me that I did not watch one second of a Rams game this year through 17 weeks

they might as well just draft Suh

then take a QB in the second round, they could still get a decent one

    What about Eric Berry?

Id take Suh and I think they will. Only other option would be a QB (Clausen, McCoy, Bradford) but they arent worthy of #1 I dont think.

    take Suh.

McShay has said except for Bradford the QB crop is pretty sweak
  • ZombieKiller
    can't pass up on Suh

Berry is actually the #1 on Todd McShay's board I think. I think he is a beast, but I wouldn't classify him as a can't miss. Suh is one of the most dominant defensive players i have ever seen on the college level.

The Rams will select Jimmy Clausen with the 1st overall pick. The first pick in the draft gets lots of money and many teams want that to be a QB which the Rams need. NOTE: I am not endorsing this pick at all just stating who I think they will take.

I agree. I'd imagine it'll be a QB. Way to much money to pay anyone but a QB.

The #1 pick will be requesting over 80 million dollars, with around 40 being guaranteed. No way in hell they pay that to a DT, to go along with the huge contract that Chris Long got a few years back.

Even though they need Suh more, contract will dictate this one.

I really think that the Rams will shop that pick though. If they want a QB, then they need to slide back a ways. The question is.....will there be any takers? A lot of teams want no part of the money involved with that first pick.

    Sadly you are right.

If this was next year's draft, with a player like Suh, or Berry Available, you'd see teams falling over themselves to move up and select them, but as it stands now, no one can really afford to drop that kind of coin on any player, let alone a DT, or S.

They need a QB to go with their talented young receivers, great LT, and stud RB.

A QB, and a few OL are what's needed to fill the puzzle. They just took Carriker as a top pick a couple years ago as well, so I don't know if they'll invest that much in the DL.

However, I won't be surprised if they take Suh considering he's such a great talent.

Berry won't go #1 in this draft simply because he's a safety, and Eric Turner was a one time occasion, and was elite as well.

If there's no CBA, then it won't matter now will it. ;)

    They'll stay at #1.

I just can't imagine the Rams dropping 1st pick money on a defensive lineman. They need a QB and there are plenty to choose from in this draft. Analysts are morons anyways and anyone can make a splash at the combine to make themselves look good. I pray the Rams take a QB so that Mr. Suh falls into the hands of the Lions. Since I first saw him play in about the middle of the season, I wanted the Lions to get him and they have a shot to.

    Jimmy Clausen

It'd be hard for them to drop that money considering what they paid Carriker just a couple years ago.

Not to mention, unlike most other QB's without a QB, they actually have the pieces in place offensively so that a QB could succeed.

    QB is their best option.

Trade down and take Bradford, Suh is a stud but the Rams need a QB, and a lot more.
  • se-alum
They'll take Bradford. No way do they pay Suh #1 money.
  • King Curtis
Washington badly wants Sam Bradford who they want Shanahan to mentor and help develop.
  • devil1197
If their smart they take a QB. They need one really bad and if Jackson is healthy next season, it will make it easier on the new QB having a good RB behind him.
  • jordo212000
They've taken 2 D-lineman very high the past few years. Chris Long in '08 and Adam Carriker in '07. I couldn't tell you whether either has been or good or what their stats look like, but surely they won't pick another DL will they?
  • King Curtis
I would say that Suh "falls" to #2 and lands in Detroit
  • DaBrowns41
They'll take Clausen or Mallett. Bradford could be in the mix as well at the #1 overall spot.

But I don't see them trading down.
