BR1986FBShould be able to swat down a few passes at that height.

So with out last pick decided (baring any trades), how would you rate our draft?BR1986FB wrote: Browns select...Clifton Geathers DE/S Carolina -

royal_kSeems like a good pick...like others I don't know much about him. It fills another need, as we were pretty thin on the Dline.
-
buckeyes_wooweeI'd give it a B+
-
royal_kIt's hard to put a grade on a draft before seeing them play. But potentially, I would give it a B+.
Not getting an OLB is the only downfall, IMO. -

buckeyes_wooweeI see Geathers has some character concerns. Surprised the Browns got him
-
dat dudeI'll go with C+.
-
BR1986FBHaden, as mentioned, was a safe pick and a need.
Ward was a reach and could be an injury problem. If he's healthy he could be a physical player.
Unlike a few, I really like the Hardesty pick.
Like the Colt McCoy pick and he could be the second biggest steal at QB (Cards got the best in John Shelton who I think is already the best QB on their roster) in this draft.
The last three will be solid depth and special teamers, at worst. Could see Mitchell catching a few balls this year.
I still hope they go out and get a veteran WR. -
BR1986FB
Well shit, if that was the case, should have taken a flier on Blount.buckeyes_woowee wrote: I see Geathers has some character concerns. Surprised the Browns got him -
SQ_Crazies1. Joe Haden--maybe a bit of a reach, but IMO a good pick. A-
2. TJ Ward--I like this pick better than most, I'm glad they didn't pick Mays. A
2. Montario Hardesty--I like the player, but IMO this is their biggest mistake of the draft. Not worth trading 2 5th rounders for because they could use the depth and there were still a bunch of good players. Could work out in their favor, but I didn't like them moving up for him. D
3. Colt McCoy--B. Good value, but I'm not sold on his upside in the NFL. A no doubter though really, can't NOT take him at that point.
4. Shawn Lauvao--think they should have taken Rennie Curran here. But they filled a need, solid pick. B-
5. Larry Asante--Great value, but I think they might have been able to do more with this pick. B-
6. Carlton Mitchell--Good upside, but I think Briscoe would have been a better choice. Like going wideout though--lots of diamonds in the rough at this position the last few years. B
6. Clifton Geathers--I would have picked Selvie over Geathers, but he is more of a 3-4 guy. Still think Selvie could have fit that role and been a better player. C
Overall a B-. Better than average, did pretty well filling needs and getting good players but I don't like wasting picks to move up when it wasn't necessary. Very solid draft though, I certainly think one of the better jobs the Browns have done in the last few years. -
BR1986FBForgot Shawn Lauvao....I think he could be their starting RG by the end of this year.
-
SQ_CraziesGet your glasses checked!
-
BR1986FB
Considering Old Man Pork Chop is their current starting RG, I think he'll have a chance. Especially since I think they will be primarily a running team and run blocking is his specialty.SQ_Crazies wrote: Get your glasses checked! -
SQ_CraziesNo my bad, I thought you were saying I forgot Lauvao. HAha
-
devil1197I like the Hardesty pick.
-
SQ_Crazies
I like the player, don't like they moving up for him though. I think he would have still been there at their next pick, essentially wasting 2 picks to get him. Even if he wasn't, there was some solid depth left at the RB spot.devil1197 wrote: I like the Hardesty pick. -
OhioStatePride2003They're talking about Myron Rolle right now...if he's undrafted, I would absolutely love to see the Browns invite him into camp.
-
devil1197
Considering Spiller/Best/Gerhart/Tate all went in the 1st and 2nd rounds, Cleveland had to make the decision to get their RB now or risk losing out on a solid guy.SQ_Crazies wrote:

No one expected some of these RB's to go as quickly as they did.
I have no problem getting him in the 2nd with losing two 5th's. Hardesty will actually see the field (barring injury). -
SQ_CraziesIf I was in charge of picking players, I would have taken a chance on Rolle from the mid-5th round on.
-
BR1986FB
The Browns are actually looking at Hardesty to be their feature back.devil1197 wrote: Hardesty will actually see the field (barring injury). -
SQ_Crazies
You really like him that much? I think they could have worried about a different need there and got a damn good player--2nd round picks are priceless. Wait and get Dwyer farther down. I don't know, I feel like if they weren't going to get a starter at RB then they shouldn't have spent that 2nd and 2 5th's on him. Not sure he's worth that.devil1197 wrote:

SQ_CraziesI'm not sure about the hype surrounding Hardesty. I think if he's your feature back, you might be in trouble. They had a decent stable of backs, why not pick your guard right there to help the backs you have? Or just hold onto your spot, not trade up and be able to easily pick Dwyer in the 5th.
