I don't like it either because of Taylor Price. I was hoping we could use one of the 3rd rounders on him.

Not much on the collegiate level but consider supporting cast. He is still far and away the best player on his team, best QB prospect at this point for next year's draft, comes from a pro-style offense, and ultimately has the intangibles to be a great QB on the next level.

Personally I'd take him over any QB in this year's draft.....save for Greg Paulus of course :)

RB eh? Any chance they would get Gerhart? I really don't know if the Browns like him at all or even talked with him...but last I saw he was projected 3rd round. If not him, who at RB today would they look into?

My guess is Dwyer from Georgia Tech. Even with his positive drug test, which was said to be ADD meds, he is best available.

well...yeah....Paulus is in a league of his own:D

If they go RB, i'm hoping it's more of a power guy. With Harrison, Jennings, and a healthy James Davis, we've got our speed guy. (hopefully)

Dwyer is the only RB I can think of off the top of my head that I would consider 2nd or 3rd round worthy. If we don't get him there are other backs we can take in later rounds. Dixon from Miss State, Gerhart from Stanford, Hardesty from Tennessee, Ben Tate from Auburn, or possibly Blount from Oregon. I wouldn't mind seeing any of those guys in a Browns uni.

I don't think the Browns need a RB. With Harrison, Davis, Hillis and Cribbs in the wildcat, I think the running is covered.

Stick with defense (I don't expect McCoy to be there and I don't want Clausen) or go OL.

i'd prefer to get a safety, olineman for the right side, wide receiver and pass rushing outside linebacker today

WR maybe? Get an extra weapon in there for Delhomme? Or do you not want that?
  • buckeyes_woowee
I think Tate would be the best WR for the west coast offense
  • sleeper
I really want a safety and a strong OL for the right side. I think Harrison is pretty good, especially if we get an even stronger OL from the previous year. I still don't want Clausen, but I'd take McCoy, and yes Haden was definitely a reach, but he's not a terrible pick, like Tebow or Alualau or whatever.
  • derek bomar
    I want Golden
  • BR1986FB
I think it will be safety, OL, RB....not necessarily in that order.
  • september63
In 40 career starts at Florida, against some quality competition, Joe Haden gave up (0) TD passes during his career. Id not calll his selection a reach!! Quality Pick!!
  • devil1197
    Ward?
  • Writerbuckeye
They rolled the dice with Ward (some history of injury troubles) but otherwise, I like the pick. With Allen going so quickly out of the gate, I think Cleveland was worried they wouldn't get a quality safety to shore up the back end of the D.

    Now they have him.
  • BR1986FB
    Don't like this...
  • SportsAndLady
Browns fans keep saying they want a hard-hitting safety to shore up the defense...well you got him...now you're disappointed w/ the pick?
  • rydawg5
It's not sexy enough to like for some fan ;)
  • Sykotyk
I'm not disappointed. But, so far I'm 'blah'. Nothing exciting about this so far. But, hopefully that means we're getting less sizzle, more steak.
  • SQ_Crazies
How about Novarro Bowman with the next pick? Unless McCoy is still there, you'd almost have to pick him then.
  • spartan
i wouldnt mind golden tate or mccoy next round
  • SQ_Crazies
Yeah, Tate too but I think he'll be gone in the next few picks.
  • spartan
we need to draft a bulldozer with mount cody and haoti in baltimore
