If I was a rookie, I would be playing no matter what, unless my leg fell off or doctors said I can't go in. But I guess that's just me.
Agreed. If the medical staff was telling me it's fine, then I'm out there. He waited this long to get his chance, and the opportunities to prove himself going into the offseason are dwindling. Will he even start next Sunday now?

Also, on a semi-related note, I can't remember the last time the OC/JJhuddle had this much full retard going on. FW, Iggy, and Tiernan have all went off the deep end the past 7-8 days. Kudos to whomever threadbanned Iggy. I'm not even a Browns fan and agree that guy sucks.

Posted this in the other thread but how would everyone feel about cutter? I feel like he could be very successful here

He'd be a whole lot better than what we've had...but three things:

    That contract...
Alshon Jeffrey, Brandon marshall, Bennett, and forte make him look a lot better than what he really he is
Cleveland would be better but he'll never win a championship so what's the point?

No thanks on cutler and his shitty contract.

    This.

Cutler is not a guy to lead a team at all. He'd piss everyone off in less than a month
  • Crimson streak
For some reason I just feel this might wake up cutler. How much guaranteed money is owed on his contract?

Connor Cook has already said he is coming back, so it's hard to put much into a mock that has him in it. I think the biggest need is obviously the front 7, but it's hard to evaluate because of all the injuries the DL had. I like Shilique Calhoun if he's available.

Also, sounds like Connor Shaw may get the start this week.

    LOL.

    Time for Connor Football

I'm on record, I hate taking a WR in the 1st. I'd take Shaq and the best DT left on the board.

If Shaw comes in and lights it up, I think Iqqy/buttwedge will be on suicide watch.

Way too many variables for me yet to take a prediction on specific guys, but I agree with COA, Front 7 all the way, unless a top OT slips.

I tend to agree with you on the WR aspect, unless its super early, WR's are a big gamble in the draft. More often, than not they tend to bust. Whether that has to do with coaching, QB around them, or talent I'm not sure.

This past year was definitely an outlier on WR talent throughout the 1st round.

I think like_that called them the ferraris of the NFL and I agree. Look at teams with top WR talent, they don't win consistently. Pretty sure Farmer agrees as he didn't draft one at all in the past draft. Need to control the LOS. That's priority #1 in the NFL to me.

I agree. Honestly Id rather us go out and sign cecil shorts instead of drafting a receiver

For whatever its worth... 11 of the top 12 players in receiving yards are on teams either in the playoffs (PIT, GB, DEN, IND, DET, DEN, DAL, GB, NE) or playing for a spot week 17 (ATL and HOU).

Atlanta shouldn't really count, but on the other hand the only player in the top 12 without a playoff shot is Jeremy Maclin of 9-6 Philly.

It never hurts to have offensive weapons.

To be fair, they also have probably the top 11 QB's in the NFL on their Rosters (Minus Houston), I think that plays the biggest part in it as well. But usually Top QB's turn mediocre WR's better than they are. So who the hell knows.

Teams should always be built from the inside out. It's always hard for teams to pass on those flashy players, but if you can't win at the LOS, those players mean nothing. Teams like the Falcons and Bears are perfect examples. They have some great skilled players, but their lines are terrible.

Yup, least Farmer seems to get this. See the media QQing last draft. Wish we had taken a dline instead of Gilbert, but that's hindsight I suppose. We need legit depth on the Oline (Esp at Center as its a very real possibility Mack opts out after next season and there's nothing we can do to keep him), dline, and Lber. I would put WR at like #5 or 6 of needs.
