Good point. bd is pretty much baltimore's version of classy poster.

Uh yeah the AFC is down, that's what I'm going by. No where in any of posts did I say this team was a powerhouse. They will make the playoffs and if I'm wrong I'll eat crow.

And lol you guys act like I'm picking Jacksonville to make the Super Bowl. It's not like Ravens are a joke. They missed the playoffs last year and added some good pieces on top of already having a good coach and already having pieces. Not a stretch but it's cool. The best part about this is we will know who was right by the end of the season.

You said they would be top 5. As I said earlier, making it to the AFC playoffs sure as hell does not make you a top 5 team.
  • bigdaddy2003
You're right, it's not a big deal but like I said that's what we have right now. We have a down AFC. Anyways it's not a stretch to me to think they could make the AFC title game. We shall see.

Going from "they'll be a top five team" to "well, they'll make the playoffs!" is a pretty huge downgrade. That's about on the level of Tiernan saying a team will beat another team by 30 and then when offered to bet on it, immediately backslides to a touchdown or whatever the actual spread on the game is.
  • bigdaddy2003
Touche, but to be fair I said "close to a top 5 team." Lol, I do think they will make the playoffs and like I said I don't think it's a stretch to think they could make the AFC title game. Like I said, we shall see.

I'm not digging into the archives but I'm pretty sure we had this discussion last year and you predicted the same thing. Didn't see you tying on any bibs and getting out any forks though.

And, yes....last year "doesn't mean shit" but I've seen them play THIS year. They are a pretty mediocre team.
  • bigdaddy2003
You're right, they weren't as good last year as I thought they would be but they are better than they were last year. Like I said, we shall see.

I think the browns should have cracked the top ten.

Along with the Steelers after that "crushing" win over the juggernaut Jags.

Baltimore will never be close to a top 5 team
Big daddy redemption I'd say Ravens were very close to being a top 5 team .. Great prediction bigdaddy

I'll admit the Ravens played well the last month, but no way we're they a sure fire top 5 team.

Definitely. Seattle, New England, Green Bay, Dallas, and Indianapolis. After that, it's a cluster fuck.

Ravens played well at the end, but they aren't a top 5 team sorry. If anything, with the Ravens losing this past weekend, I think it shows that the AFCN was not as strong as their record indicated. I think the AFCN will be coming back down to earth next season.

    Top ten?
Who really cares. The NFL plays it out and really to argue about whom should and should not be considered in the top whatever is just fruitless.
College? Yeah, makes sense to dispute it as the top 4 gets a nod and there really isnt a true way to determine it other than stats and opinions. NFL has their records and playoff slots to go with and other than that it doesnt matter.

Hell, the ravens laid an egg in week 16 and sleptwalk against the browns until the second half.
They did rip the steelers though and played well vs the pats.

As for this weekend.......Seattle, GB, NE are def the top echelon of the league. Indy was a bit up and down but took it to a once again underachieving Manning team.

I know NE had the top seed but I just dont think they seem that unbeatable. I could see Luck going in and winning.

SB winner comes from the NFC though this season.
  • friendfromlowry
I think any of the possible SB match-ups will be good, although I still would like to see New England lose Sunday.
