Cincinnati Reds - Rest of the Season Thread

  • Ironman92
    Reds relievers 0-14 since ASB
  • mhs95_06
This one was no 1 run game, but the relievers pitched 8 2/3.

Ryan Dennick got a situational lefty appearance facing Adams with two on and two out. He got a strike-out but got credit for 0/3 of an inning with a great breaking ball that went into the dirt after it crossed home plate right in the middle that goofy Meso couldn't block to get the 3rd out. Looks like behind the plate Meso has too much hustle(not enough patience) and too little smarts! He would also have tagged the 2nd run out at the plate on a great throw by Bruce if he wouldn't have been too far out in front of the plate. Catcher positioning is critical with the great new rule -- can't be too deep or too far out front!

and the cardinals bullpen have I think 19 losses ALL SEASON.

    This team is fucking horrible.
but hurry up and get your season tickets next year to secure you ASG ticket.!

When Pena plays 1st, almost any ball that comes to him on the bounce, whether a Cozart throw or a batted ball, he cannot keep it in his glove -- has to pick it up after it falls out on the ground, and many times he falls down also.

I can't say I've followed many of the games. I usually watch the highlights or maybe flip around channels, but don't watch whole games anymore. However, I try to check in a few times each night and it baffles me how Price continues to play the scrubs. I mean, why not play some of the guys up from AAA who could possibly make the roster. Why he continually runs out Ryan Ludwick, Bryan Pena and Zack Cozart specifically, absolutely astonishes me.

If JJ Hoover is on the opening day roster next year, hell even in the minors, I will not support this team. He is an absolute joke.

Lazy lazy footwork by Cozart was the problem

Had 20 base runners in 8 inn tonight.

    Out catchers each reached 4x

Sure we'll see Tucker for Meso and Hannahannnahannahan for Pena

Probably get Bruce back in there

Yes, that caused the bad throw, but I can't grasp why Pena can't keep the ball in his glove or his body off the ground.

JJ Hoover must go. I don't even want him back as an usher.
  • mhs95_06
Pena gets thrown out at home and the 3B coach gets the criticism! Can he not adjust his route and slide for where the throw is coming. Catcher is on foul side of the plate and Pena does not adjust to go into fair territory nor does he slide with his right leg out and lean away from the tag. Instead he he continues straight into the center of the plate with left leg extended with the right knee right there for the easy tag!

Tonight situational lefty Dennick gets his one man, in Adams again, with 2 on and 2 out, without having to rely on Meso to block a ball in the dirt. He got him to pop out to LF on a change up on a 3-2 count after 4 sliders and 3 fastballs. Good job holding the 2 run lead to end the 8th. Monday night he was trying to keep the deficit at 2.

We know anything about the two guys we got in the broxton trade
  • Ironman92
    Really good team win.

I'd start Luddy, BHam and Heisey in OF tomorrow

Look like two guys that will never do anything to me....but I'm still ok with that.

Shackleford might make it eventually and do ok....but wouldn't bet on it

Yeah, saw their A and AA stats I think is what they posted last night. The trade was simply a money dump for a setup guy.

A set-up guy who's paid closer money, which is the sort of luxury that any team not in the "unlimited money" category can't afford.

Yeah. I still would have liked seeing Chapman start but that isnt going to happen now. They probably woulda gotten more by trading him as well, but he is one of the faces on this team.

    Reds still suck.
    Hope this helps.

Just as long as they don't suck when they play St. Louis and Milwaukee, I'm happy!

I guess they won today, taking 3 of 4 from the cards.

    Huh. Who knew?
  • Ironman92
    No
  • Ironman92
No-hitter thru 7 against the Reds
  • Rotinaj
Can we cut everyone on the team after the season? Coaches too.
