I would not have had a problem with him racing the next day -

AutomatikHere's some BS write up regarding possible legal actions. They won't happen, nor should they.

The lawsuit and settlement are a pretty good possibility. I highly doubt anything will happen criminally.Automatik;1643150 wrote:Here's some BS write up regarding possible legal actions. They won't happen, nor should they.

If you were him you'd be smart enough not to spend time on a lawsuit when a relatively small amount of money makes it go away.ccrunner609;1643169 wrote:it will eventually be from some sort of insurance settlement that will likely be StewART and the race track they were at. If I was him I would fight any lawsuit. It wasn't his fault that dumbass got ran over. -

By anyone other than an insurance company, doubt it.GoChiefs;1643162 wrote:The family is definitely gonna get paid. -
AutomatikYeah, I'll be surprised to see Stewart pay a dime out of his pocket.
People that actually think he intended to hit the kid need to do some reading up on sprint cars.

Not a race fan but i have been to his track in Eldora a couple of times and I easily could see how he was hit and Stewart not see him. I think many who think he did it on purpose are just Stewart haters.Automatik;1643191 wrote:Yeah, I'll be surprised to see Stewart pay a dime out of his pocket.

I know a few show up at the Eldora speedway for a special race or two each year.Tiernan;1643201 wrote:Do all the top NASCAR hill jacks race go-karts on their off days? -

Manhattan BuckeyeDon't know anything about these type of vehicles, but why would anyone want to leave their vehicle and get that close to such a powerful machine? Even if these are the best drivers in the world, in the best conditions tires blow, mechanical failures happen, and other events that have nothing to do with the driver can cause any vehicle to malfunction.
I can't wrap the idea that someone would willingly put themselves in harm's way like this needlessly. Most people go out of their way to protect themselves. -

I would think that the insurance carrier (for both track and driver) would have an exclusion for injury or death during the scope of a event.queencitybuckeye;1643161 wrote:The lawsuit and settlement are a pretty good possibility. I highly doubt anything will happen criminally. -

In today's society, you need to police those who can not think rationally. I foresee all levels of racing have a mandatory suspension for approaching other vehicles on the track. If you do anything then leave your vehicle (other than on fire) for a tow or ambulance you will not race the next week.Manhattan Buckeye;1643206 wrote:Don't know anything about these type of vehicles, but why would anyone want to leave their vehicle and get that close to such a powerful machine? Settlements are made all the time in cases where the person being sued would likely win.Sonofanump;1643208 wrote:I would think that the insurance carrier (for both track and driver) would have an exclusion for injury or death during the scope of a event. -

Sounds rational to me. Other professional have rules about leaving the bench during altercations. The video means little given my limited knowledge on this type of racing but even the vehicle that missed him came dangerously close to him. In real life during a "road rage" event is it tolerated for someone to run into traffic to make a stupid point?
