Tribe @ Yanks

Since nobody wanted to start it... I guess I will.
Different night same result ... 5-1 Yankees in the 5th :(
    3 hits thru 5....1 error.

Would any of our pitchers be more than a 5th on any other team (besides Kluber)?

Most would be #1s...for the AAA affiliate.

On a happier note, Justin Masterson didn't suddenly become competent after leaving.

Back to back poor starts for Bauer. Is he hitting the wall? Or is there too much video on him now?
  • vball10set
Right now, save Kluber, we gave no pitching. Period.

Im thinking a wall. Has be past his most innings pitched in career at this point. Sure there is more video, but his stuff is too good for it to make this drastic of a change unless his arm is tired and pitches aren't doing much...

I watched a bit of the game last night and he has the 95-96 velocity, but didn't seem to be hitting his spots early on and was just getting peppered.

Nothing wrong with Bauer, ZacMac, or Salazar, or House... These guys are still learning to pitch and there will be inconsistency along the way. It is unrealistic to think any differently. Josh Tomlin has been around enough to pigeon hole him as a #5 starter.... # 4 at best. We should be looking to find Carrasco's bullpen niche.

I'm beginning to think the only games we'll win from here on out are the ones the Kluber pitches :(
  • HitsRus
Nice win for Kluber today... Six innings 10 strikeouts.

Carrasco tomorrow... Will start in place of Salazar who was optioned to triple A after his last start....Carlos has pitched pretty well out of the pen... Still, they keep running him out there hoping he will magically turn into a starter. I think we've seen enough of him to know that's not going to happen.

    Kluber is now 13-6 with a 2.46 ERA and 187 K's.

Swisher and Murphy to the DL

^^^ugh. Hopefully Bourn is back soon.

Can somebody other than Kluber give us something resembling an effective start?

No. Just watched a Zach Walters at bat, and he looks like Chiz circa every year but this one...smh.
  • bases_loaded
    1 at bat? Smh

My smh was aimed at his propensity to swing at pitches not even close to the strike zone, ala Chiz. That you can tell that after only one at bat.

We won two in a row on the Yankees?

    How about that?!!!

First time in 21 years at their place, according to Hammy.
  • Laley23
Maybe Carrasco was just learning to pitch?
  • HitsRus
Shocked that Carrasco pitched so damn well starting... Just a tease?

nice win.... Kipnis with three hits in a stolen base!

With the D'Backs coming into town, maybe we can gets little streak going.

    Where's Wahoo?
  • Tigerfan00
Andrew Chafin from Western Reserve(Collins) high school was just called up to Arizona. Great timing for family and friends to go see him play in person at this level.
  • TBone14
Such a tease this club. Probably dispatch the DBacks in short order and be right in the hunt before starting the new losing streak.

Played traveling baseball with him as a kid. Awesome to see!
