  At age 38 he pitched against the 1933 season finale against the Red Sox....that Red Sox team had nothing in HR hitters at all

Told the player who was pitching BP if he threw another CB in batting practice to him he was gonna hit one back at his face. Kid threw another CB. I Told the BP pitcher to just throw straight pitches in BP. Next pitch the kid hits it back up the middle, off the L screen that part that runs parellel to the ground and then it bounces up and hits the kid in the face, breaking his nose. Blood all over the place. The hitter stood there and said.."told ya not to throw me another CB".
