Reds Dbacks Game 1
-
SportsAndLadyShit! Can someone edit and change marlins to D-backs. Skipped a series
-
Ironman92Lol....you're getting old
-
RotinajThe Reds will probably "skip" the series too. Dbacks sweep.

I just don't care anymore lolIronman92;1639584 wrote:Lol....you're getting old
I get up for this team they let me down. I give up, they win a few in a row. -
Azubuike24Actually, lets keep the title completely fucked up and see what happens? This team basically needs about a week long winning streak.
-
thavoiceAt the ASG Price said something that confused me. He mentioned how they have been doing so well that they deserve this break. I thought it to be odd as when you are hot you DONT want that break.
Doesnt matter though. This team isnt going to hit consistantly with Votto and BP out. It is amazing they are .500 playing this 'bad' and with such little offense. -
SportsAndLadyShould the Reds throw the farm towards getting Tulo?
-
Azubuike24
I would, but I can't in any rational world see it happening. The ONLY motive would be Walt needs to do something to save his job.SportsAndLady;1639664 wrote:Should the Reds throw the farm towards getting Tulo?
The Marlon Byrd fiasco of 2013 and the failure to address easily-identifiable problems makes him hard to defend. -

It would be great to have Toolowhiskey (I work for the Rockies promo dept part time) in a reds uniform but at what end? Do we want to get back to the days of having some good hitting and no pitching? PLus his salary with Votto's wouldnt allow them to sign any of their possible pitchers coming up for a new contract that wouldnt be included in the deal.Azubuike24;1639689 wrote:I would, but I can't in any rational world see it happening. Anything someone would draw up as a trade to get him would strictly be a Constanza-ish trade. -
Azubuike24Well, you have to figure...
Ryan Ludwick (4.5M next year)
Jonathan Broxton (11M next year)
Sean Marshall (6.5M next year)
Manny Parra (3.5M next year)
Skip Schumaker (2.5M next year)
Jack Hannahan (2M next year)
That's 29 million dollars committed to not a single player who is a every day starter, starting pitcher or closer. THIS is why they will have trouble keeping Cueto, Latos, Chapman and Bruce. -

True. No matter who is on this roster though it will be tough to keep all of them. Heck, even Leake may command much more from some other team although I do believe he would sign in Cincy for less.Azubuike24;1639703 wrote:Well, you have to figure...

What do you all think about Chapman? I love watching him pitch. Electric arm, a blast to watch. But is he needed at the contract he gets as a closer?
I was always in the camp of making him a starter. I think he would be a Randy Johnson type guy throwing 95+ for 6+ every outing. His secondary pitches would develop and get better with more innings so to me that would not be a problem. Numbers come out each year about the average amount of saves blown per season by guys and Chapman is right there at the league average. Now....when he does get in he usually closes games in grand fashion with nearly 2 K's an inning (and closers need the ability to miss bats) but do the reds need him as a closer? -
Ironman92Tulo is hurt a lot....but would be awesome to have.
It's not like Cozart is dead last in MLB in slugging % or anything....while Tulo is 1st or 2nd -
RotinajSo if we got Tulo, how far would Meso drop in the lineup? I assume 9th but who knows.

He would be relegated to the EH position.Rotinaj;1639715 wrote:So if we got Tulo, how far would Meso drop in the lineup? I assume 9th but who knows. -
mhs95_06The Reds have had a lot of runners tagged out trying for home this season. That one in the 2nd inning on Negron's hit was the worst judgement of them all by the 3B coach. there weren't even two outs and Cozart has been very decent getting runners in from 3rd with less than two outs this year.
-
mhs95_06Terrible 0-2 pitch to Montero to knock in the run to tie it at 1 with 2 out and a base open.
-
Azubuike24Can't score another night...
-
Azubuike24Bailey absolutely rolling though.
-
wildcats20Due up 3rd.
If somehow they can score with one of the first 2 guys, do you send him back out? -
Azubuike24
Normally, no, but we've seen too many of these games where it's tied late and the Reds need to go to the pen. After they blow their load with Chapman/Broxton, it's almost a guaranteed loss if they aren't leading and have to go to Hoover, Parra, etc...wildcats20;1639803 wrote:Due up 3rd.

wildcats20Oh yay, Skippy time.
-
mhs95_06Cozart bunting is a sure sign Homer is done.
-
Azubuike24We've seen this script MANY TIMES. Chapman will come in, get through 9. Reds won't win. Broxton or LeCure through the 10th, Reds won't win. We then go deeper in the pen, to someone unreliable or who can easily have an off night. Reds lose 2-1 or 3-1 in 11 or 12.
-
mhs95_06Homer is a bad pitch or a smart call by the 3rd base coach away from getting a complete game 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 win!
-
Azubuike24
2-1 or 2-0 would've required someone to hit with RISP...mhs95_06;1639808 wrote:Homer is a bad pitch or a smart call by the 3rd base coach away from getting a complete game 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 win!
